Customer Reviews:

I spy… More phonics, please4
I got this book along with the Leapfrog Tag Reading System for my three-year-old daughter. I thought it would help her learn words (or names) and its phonic sounds (I am not a native English speaker). I think it is a good book for kids who just start to learn words.

The downside of the book is that it sounds words only if they are a part of “I spy…” sentences. There are a lot of things in the I SPY pictures but everything has only some kinds of music (or effect) sounds, not names, except those in the sentences. So, my daughter only can learn names and phonics about three or four for each picture unless I teach her the names of objects personally.

Maybe, English-speak families do not understand its necessity but I wish the book has more record for objects’ names. It would be a lot easier for her to learn names of things.

My son LOVES I SPY!!5
I purchased this book for my son because he loves all I SPY books. So what better than a talking I SPY book!! The games are fun and are offered on selective pages but it gets my son thinking and lengthing his attention span by looking for the item. Overall WE love I SPY!!!

Great Book5
This book was a great addition to the leapfrog tag. My boys love the regular I spy books and this version is even better, all the pictures are clickable and it’s a great help explaining the words and pictures for each section. Love it!

Customer Reviews:

Quick build, fun to play, challenging for those little brains5
One of the new Lego “board games,” Pirate Code is similar to the game Mastermind (where you try to crack your opponent’s secret color code of pegs). First you build the game itself from the provided Lego components, then 2-4 people can play the code game.

As far as Lego pieces included, you get a variety of common items along with many colored jewels and a skeleton. The setup ends up looking like four pirate planks leading to treasure chests. There is as well a very cool rubber Lego die—it’s customizable with different tiles that click into the the rubber cube itself.

Once the game is assembled, players set up their own secret code by placing 4 of the colored jewels inside their treasure chest. Players then take turns rolling the die, selecting colored jewels to ‘guess’ the codes of the other players. Similar to Mastermind, jewel placement is confirmed as correct/right place, correct/wrong place, or not correct at all. Play continues until all the codes have been cracked; last person standing is the Winner.

Aside from the common rules of play, Lego also includes directions on several ‘alternative’ ways to play the game. They even discuss options where you can make up your own rules, customizing the die to suit the game you design—-great creative fun for kids!

I received this game along with two other new Lego games for my birthday; so far the kids like this one the best! Bonus points to Lego for coming up with some fun games that can simply then be absorbed into a larger Lego collection once the kids outgrow the game itself.

fun4
The instructions are hard to follow to get how to play the game but once you understand the rules, it is a fun game.
