One episode, directed in gradual season 3, depicts Robert Conrad’s tragic plunge while performing his stunt: “The Night of the Fugitives” (guest starring Simon Oakland) .

Well here we are, the final adventures of James T West and Artemus Gordon. Hard to contain the series only ran 4 years. Growing up in Modern York, the reruns ran aplenty during the 70s. Sadly though, series co-star Ross Martin didn’t gather to relish the whole season as he was side lined by a heart attack. Replacing him was a young Charles Aidman as Jeremy Pike who was as friendly at his trade as Arte (you gain the impression he learned from the master himself) and others including Alan (the Skipper) Hale, John Dehner and William Schallert (Carson Drew, Nils Baris, Martin Lane) in a 2 share episode. Their names got billed in the ending credits in the episodes they appeared in though Martin continued to appear in the opening credits for the remainder of the hurry. Martin would recover to be able to do the sequel films made in 1979 and 1980, Wild Wild West Revisited and More Wild Wild West which according to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com will sadly not be included in this situation. Fortunately, they are shown often enough on Encore Westerns so you can copy them yourself uncut (the prerecorded VHS tapes I occupy are copy protected) . Martin passed away soon after making the sequel films, but I am definite if we looked up him up on the IMDB we would come by a lot of advantageous stuff under his name including a villain on Wonder Woman in 1977, and an attempt to bring Charlie Chan benefit impartial before or after More Wild Wild West. So accumulate this last season, and devour 4 years of one of the shortest yet current Western series of the 1960s.

I’m surprised at all the adults bashing this movie because THEY didn’t like it! What I loved about this movie is that it does seem to cater entirely to childrens fantasies. I’ve seen many children notice it (because during my sons’ obsession with it he had to prove it to everyone!) and they were all mesmerized by it. I’ve even enjoyed it. The 3-D version is pointless though because unless you tweak your tv honest proper it is awful quality. Don’t bother with that, unbiased glimpse the 2-D version that is on the same disk. It’s unexcited gigantic in 2-D. Puny girls like this movie too, but a must have if you have runt boys!

SUPER Smart movie. My nieces savor it! YES! YOU DO HAVE THE OPTION OF TURNING OFF 3-D effects!

Excellent hifi: not just a “table top radio”
Just to qualify this review, I am not a techie or an audiophile. I listen to music mostly either through my ipod or live streaming on deezer (european rhapsody). However, having purchased this F80, I am now rediscovering my cd collection. The music reproduction is excellent quality: no matter how high you turn the volume the clarity is amazing AND even I can now hear the difference in quality between my iPod (reduced quality) and original CDs. Make sure you purchase the i80 Ipod dock with the F80 so you still have access to all your music, but I suspect you will listen again to your cds or simply burn your music lossless from now on. This is a perfect music system for a second room. Love it!!!

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2003–It would be easy to dismiss “Thirteen” as an exploitative expend in shock, but to do so would say the film its hard-edged realism, phenomenal acting and powerfully unsentimental legend, which culminates in one of the most emotionally raw and unforgettable endings I have ever seen. Spinning the scary memoir of a perfectly normal thirteen-year-old girl, Tracy, who, with the aide of a more “experienced” rebel named Evie, slips and falls into a hellish downward spiral of every parent’s worst nightmare, “Thirteen” is a handsome work, but can be difficult to stomach at times. For instance, it opens with the two girls huffing aerosol cans and, so awestruck by the numbness in their faces, they originate slapping each other for kicks. This is probably one of the less grisly scenes of rebellion, as later they delve into actual drugs, prefer up beer drinking and experiment with their fragile sexuality. Nothing, however, is as hard to consume as the scenes where Tracy finds some random bewitching object and begins slicing up her contain arm, all to temporarily dash the injure of living.

Despite the many difficult things shown, the shock factor actually works in this movie because it all seems so horribly trusty. There’s not a single portion of this movie that couldn’t be happening somewhere in this country apt now, and that’s what makes “Thirteen” so gruesome.

Aiding the film in its realistic arrive is the camerawork by first-time director Catherine Hardwicke. She shot the movie with a digital camera, and it often has the eye and feel of a documentary. She also splashes the film with vibrant colors at points to add to the sense of decadence in the girls’ care-free, unsafe lifestyles. Later, come the waste, Hardwicke also seems to drain almost all color out of the scenes in order to prove the icy reality of life when all the drugs and sex and partying lead to their natural conclusions.

The film doesn’t offer any cookie-cutter solutions on how to deal with wild teens, nor does it offer us a smiley-faced ending where it all works out and everyone winds up elated. Instead, in its final minutes, it offers only wrenching emotional truth and a unexcited, subtle message of hope.

Through all of this, the entire ensemble does nothing but stamp. The main star of the movie, and the one who undergoes the most changes, is Evan Rachel Wood (”Once and Again”), who plays Tracy as if this were the sage of her bear life. Unbelievable in every capacity, she proves herself a superb successor to our new generation of A-list actresses. As well, Nikki Reed, who plays Evie (and co-wrote the film with Hardwicke), astonishes in her first performance. She also has a shining future. Meanwhile, it’s a suited passe, Holly Hunter, who, as Tracy’s mom, becomes the “Thirteen”’s shaky lawful center, a recovering alcoholic with more heart than brain, so clueless as to what’s going on but undeterred in her determination to withhold her only daughter grand no matter what. It’s a tough role, and Hunter nails it. The final moments involve an emotionally intense scene between Hunter and Wood, and watching it, you realize that there are few-maybe none-who could have handled it better.

“Thirteen” is an wonderful film, which despite many melancholy moments, manages to stand out as one of the few big movies of the year. However, be forewarned: it is not for the faint of heart, nor is it a movie you would peek to be entertained in the customary sense. Serene, whatever thought you stride out of “Thirteen” with, you have to admit at least one thing: it stays with you, like the bitter chill on your bones during the cruelest winter.

The litmus test for the realism in this one - watched it with a group of 12-18 year passe girls and they all said it reflected the reality of being teenagers, with all the loyal pressures and stresses of their high school and social lives. This is, quite simply, one of the most unbiased (and painful) movies about adolescence that I’ve ever seen..and it was written by a teenager who also stars in the movie…wonderful!

At the initiate of the movie, Tracy (played by Evan Rachel Wood) is a first-rate student with a not-so-great family life. Her mother is struggling to set aside food on the table and under a lot of pressure to have family and home together.

So it makes sense that Tracy would be drawn to “the coolest girl in school”, Evie, a wild rebel with a penchant for disaster. Evie gladly takes Tracy under her wings, often pushing her into Tracy into situations she isn’t prepared for (parents should be aware that some of the scenes are graphic, including sexuality and nudity) .

It is impressive that this film is so utterly believable and the sensational and often homely scenes form sense in the context of Tracy and Evie’s lives. Adding to the strength of this film is Holly Hunter’s strong performance as a mother who is desperate to effect her daughter but isn’t quite entertaining enough to salvage the suitable path. One of the best films of the year, bar none!

Camera works great, software is terrible
I’ve been using this camera in my home for about 2 years for surveillance. I suspect that most people are interested in using this camera for the same reason, which means you must have software that will support that function. The picture quality is very good with good lighting, usuable in moderate lighting, and not useful in low light settings. The wireless connection is very reliable and networking setup is straightforward. So if all you really want is to be able to glance at a screen and see what’s going on “live”, then this is a great choice.

For surveillance, and in particular to review activity later, software is a really problem. I’ve tried a few different software packages, some free (including Trendnet’s included software), some paid. In general, no software is really great for what I want, but ultimately I am using Zoneminder (free) running on my Linux server. Yes, this requires some technical know-how, I now have motion-detected video recording with a decent picture for a low price.

I rate the camera 4 stars. If the included software were better, it would be a 5. Since I already had a server running that I could install the free zoneminder software and configure this camera to be used easily, I rate the camera 4 stars. Without zoneminder available, the camera would rate 3 stars. Ease of use is only 3 stars since for that same reason. I have not had to call tech support, so I can’t comment.

Okay product / bad software
I read a couple of good reviews of this camera and bought it. The camera worked out of the box initially which was a good sign. Picture quality was pretty decent. I could not make it work with wireless though. I called tech support at night. They told me to call in day time and ask for a level three tech. I called the next and kept begging for a level three tech but the lady was pretty determined to ‘help’ me. I was on hold for different lengths of time while she was asking others on what we should do next. Anyway 45 minutes later my camera was not working with wired connection as well and she told me to return it to the store that I bought it from !! What a support.

I will return it tomorrow. Their support sucks. I recommend that you stay away.

I ended up keeping it since they were able to get it working for me. After a few months of using it, I would say pick quality is ok but the software sucks. IPView Pro creates 1 file per 50 MB and that creates lots of files in one day. They need better software. Also, they should timestamp the output video. How do I know what was the time when something happened?

Nice Camera for my needs
I purchased the wired and wireless versions of this cam at the same time. They replaced a single dLink DCS1000W. Both failed during set-up and tested out as faulty. Trendnet advised I return them for exchange after a few minutes discussion of the diagnostics I had performed. Amazon made the process painless and the new units set up and worked fine.

I wanted to display the camera output on my web page but Trendnet doesn’t provide code support to do that, at least they never responded to my request for it. I viewed the camera output on the web interface and just copied the code I needed and imbedded it in my page. Works great.

Majid Majidi, director of “The Children of Heaven” (first Oscar-nominated film from Iran), gives us another heart-warming (and slightly poignant) film about “Baran” (meaning “Rain”) . The film has a romantic taste in a subdued sage, and perhaps a very immediate and political message. But like a lovable brother and sister in “Heaven,” “Baran” is about the two people in Iran tenderly depicted by Majidi.

The anecdote starts with a young man Lateef working at a construction place somewhere in Iran. The work is hard, and many workers are actually not Iranian, but illegal immigirants from Afghanistan. The boss Memar (superior Mohammad Amir Naji, father of the children in “Heaven”) is in fact a top-notch fellow, but doesn’t (or cannot) give worthy wage to them. There, Lateef has been assigned a rather easy job, serving tea and bread because of his father.

But one day Lateef must originate to work, this time a accurate one. For one of the workers of the site broke his leg, and a son of the injured, very puny boy named Rahmat, replaces this guy who could be idle until then. Temperamental, discontent, Rahmat acts very nastily before this little boy … until he finds a surprising secret about “Rahmat” who in fact is named “Baran.”

The rest of the epic should remain untold. The man begins to change his attitudes to this newcomer, silently protecting Baran and keeping the secret from the people around them. But what can he do? And how far can he go when he knows someday Baran and the family must go relieve to the country where the society is aloof very unstable? All those emotional changes happening in this man’s heart are tactly dealt with Majidi’s lyrical chronicle, without being too sugary and sentimental.

I understand some people’s complaint that this film (and Iranian films in general) is too slow-moving. And I judge the latter half, which should have shown more of Baran, seems a bit overlong. The 90 minutes surely feel long even for me (though I have watched many films from that country) . Composed, the charms of the simple account with rich details of the everyday life in Iran which the Western media rarely mask are irresitible.

Certainly it moves lifeless, but “Baran” presents us what a qualified cinema can do with its gracious visuals and valid attitudes towards filmmaking and the people it pictures.

Those who are alive to in Iran-Afghanistan relations should peruse “Kandahar” and “The Cyclist.” The frail in a sense follows the possible life of Baran, and the latter is a tall hit in Iran about a most desperate bet done by an ancient illegal immigrant from Afghanistan, who has to drag a bicycle through one whole week.

Filmed before the tragic events of September 11, and yet as timely as today’s headlines, this Iranian film captures the scrape of Afghan refuges in Teheran. There are more than 1.4 million of them who fled the Russian invasion in 1979. Many have grown up never seeing their homeland and, like illegal aliens everywhere, work the hardest for the lowest pay. And yet, this is a adore narrative.

The scene is a skeletal construction space where workers are putting bricks in the frame of a big building. Shot from a distance, the people leer like worker bees. But they soon become individuals as the director moves the camera towards them. Work is hard, dusty, backbreaking and hazardous. And there are both Iranians and illegal Afghans working there. The owner, played by Mohammad Amir Naji, is always screaming “gain befriend to work” but we soon come by out that his bark is worse than his bite. He’s under pressure to find the job done correct or he won’t be paid, and he also has a warm position in his heart for the hard-working Afghans who must hasten and conceal whenever the inspectors advance around.

Lateef, played by Hossein Abedini, is a 17-year mature Turkish Iranian and so therefore has a precious identity card. His job is the cook and “tea boy” on the residence. He’s plump of ego and loves to joke around, often getting into arguments and scuffles. One day, one of the Iranian workers gets injured and, in order to feed his family, sends Rahmat, in his space. Rahmat is shrimp and gorgeous and cannot carry the heavy bags of cement and so therefore is assigned Lateef’s job. Lateef is at first inflamed and is especially exasperated when Rahmat’s cooking is praised by all the workers. Later events invent him change his attitude though.

It is enthralling that throughout the entire film, Rahmat doesn’t reveal one single word. However, the audience doesn’t miss anything as every possible emotion comes through with unbiased expressions and gestures. The account is a rich emotional experience against a background of harsh reality. The cinematography and direction are proper. I could feel the strain of muscles doing heavy work. I saw the beauty of the natural countryside, and felt the anxiety of never having an identity card. I shuddered at the image of a wintry stream, which would be exquisite except that women laborers, cool and overworked, were eking out a living by captivating boulders. This is the sage of vulgar struggle. And yet, it is the worship yarn that shines through.
