I just saw his Vegas show at the Mirage. The characters are so realistic. You believe Terry is conversing with another person. He is so musically talented in many different genres! This is a great keepsake if you have seen him live, and for those not able to go to the Mirage, it will be a great substitute. He is a major entertainer of our day!

Ever wonder what happen to some of those American’s Got Talent winners. Bianca Ryan who was the first winner seem to vanish after her first CD.

However when it comes to Terry Fator, you see he has ventriloquism talent and musical chops to pull off a show worth a million bucks. His “Wooden” friends are believeable and enjoyable.

When I got the screener DVD, it did not have the commentary tracks as the final copy did, it only had the filmed concert. This is– according to a friend who seen his live show at the Mirage — his live show. It transfer well to DVD. Better than some of Jeff Dunham’s DVDs. The show of puppets and music will keep you laughing and humming along. His range and vocal talent is so verse for entertainment

Buy,Download, Or Stream Terry Fator: Live from Las Vegas! Click Here

There is one problem with this show, there is a Micheal Jackson comedy duet with one of the puppets that seems to fall flat due to MJ’s death.

One of the highlighs of the show is when Fator makes a male live audience member into a Cher puppet (dress and all). Fator does Sonny for a I got you Babe song

This is real family entertainment with an edge for young and old alike. After you see this once , you want to see this again

So Terry, when is the next DVD. I want to see more!

Okay, while there’s no menu with a chapter list, it is segmented so you can skip ahead an exercise or two… Yes, it would be better if it were broken down by exercise and had a central menu. Still it’s not as though you have to fast forward through the whole thing to get to the exercise you want. Which means that the AM/PM Callanetics - my particular favorite when dealing with insomnia - will be manageable.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Callanetics 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours - Amazon.com Exclusive! Click Here

Chaptered or not this is the single best workout I have ever done. It leaves your body, not just stronger and toned, but more flexible and deeply relaxed. After a couple of weeks of doing this video not only did I drop at least a dress size but but my back has never been so relaxed and comfortable. I suffer back pain and headaches when under stress which have been particularly intense recently and these stretches are the only thing I’ve ever found that truly deal with the pain at its source on an ongoing basis.

So, would it be nice if it were chaptered with a central menu? Yes of course. Would it stop me from buying this video again? Not on your life! Not only would I buy it again, but I’m going to be giving this as a gift to all my friends for their birthdays this year.

First point: I am a guy, in my early 40s and out of shape - years of beer and fun have taken their toil.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Callanetics 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours - Amazon.com Exclusive! Click Here

I have tried weightlifting - it is like watching the wimp from the Charles Atlas comic book advertisements - not my bag.

I have tried aerobics - also called “fat man bouncing.” I hate the elliptical machine and the treadmill.

This video, practiced in the privacy of your home, will get your flab firm in quick time

I have owned and worked out with this video for a number of years and recently purchased and began using the DVD version.

Give this workout a chance and stay with it. In my late 20s and early 30s I used this video to quickly get in shape and shave off inches of the ubiquitous male beer belly.

Over the years, I added on weight and like many men my age, found the relaxing comfort of the television and brisk workout from the remote control each evening to be my preferred workout.

After a thorough scolding from my doctor, it was time to get back in shape. I surfed to Amazon and bought the DVD version of Callanetics.

There are a few things to take into account when using the newly issued DVD.

1. Watch the thing all the way through, perhaps two times to really learn the exercises.

2. Ignore the 1980s fashions and bad music. That isn’t what you are here for.

3. The newest version of the DVD is chaptered, which helps you get through the idle chatter.

4. Focus on form before you focus on reps. Ignore the music and the chatter on the video and take time to ensure your legs, back, hands, etc. are in the correct place. By three or four workouts, your attention to form will make a tremendous difference.

5. After about 5 or 6 workouts, go ahead and turn off the sound and listen to what you need to in the background why you work out. I will occasionally return to the sound to help refresh form.

6. If you are severely out of shape, like I was, focus on just Callanetics for bit. Then after 12 or so hours (four weeks at three times a week.), incorporate a brisk walk or run on off days to really get the full fitness.

I have lost three inches in my waste and my “Dunlap” tire on my belly - that part of the middle aged male belly that creeps over the belt - is gone. After even the first hour, you will feel invigorated and relaxed.

The next day, you will feel the workout while walking up stairs or putting away dishes in the kitchen. This is no work out for wimps or just for women.

The sweat on my forehead and my raising heart during each workout will vouch for that.

I absolutely loved it! Peter Weller tell the story of the rise and fall of the Egyptian empire in a fascinating and contemporary way. There is great insight on exactly how all those amazing pyramids were created and the story behind the leaders and commoners who made it happen. There is also the inside story on the creation of the first military fortresses which is absolutely amazing. The Egyptians were the first great empire and made their mark which will live on forever in history.

This DVD was a great example of entertainment meeting information. Dramatizations were well done, visually impressive footage. Very informative and worthwhile as a tool for education, yet also very entertaining. Well worth the purchase.

All right.

With tongue firmly in cheek, let me say that the other reviewers of this movie have got it all wrong. “The Eiger Sanction” has got to be one of the all-time great “guy” films (I refer you to the “Big Damn Book of Sheer Manliness” here on Amazon.com for more information on those two). Yes, for Saturday-night-with-the-boys viewing, this is one of the classics. Here are ten reasons why:

1. Clint the Glint…need I say more?

2. Incredibly realistic mountain-climbing footage, from Southern Utah to the Swiss Alps, all shot on location, with none of the ridiculous fakery found in farces such as “Cliffhanger”.

3. A plot that makes James Bond seem believable, starting with a combination art expert/mountain climber/CIA assassin and going forward from there.

4. Fantastic scenery shots, including George Kennedy and Clint on top of a sandstone pinnacle (I’m sure George really climbed it…yeah, right).

5. A cool resort compound (actually filmed at the lodge in Zion National Park, Utah).

6. Well-timed 70s nudity (in other words, totally unnecessary).

7. An albino (!) “establishment” guy, (CIA leader) and his wonderfully despicable sidekick, just waiting for Clint to kick around.

8. Astounding political incorrectness, including a character named “Jemimah Brown”, another one known simply as “Buns”, and much, much more.

9. Fantastically quotable manly lines, for example “Assassins get assassinated, and that ain’t in my game plan”, or “There’s a twenty on the dresser by the bed”, etc., etc., etc.

10. Clint even glints at a little dog…really!

I could go on and on.

All kidding aside, I love this movie! Just don’t plan on taking it too seriously.

As a thriller, the ‘Eiger Sanction’ is just ok. It is a pretty faithful adaptation of Trevanian’s bestseller from 1972. It stars Clint Eastwood as Dr. Johnathan Hemlock — an ex-climber now art professor who does occasional asassinations for a secret US agency to pay for his art collection. He takes on one last job to pay for a Pissaro he desperately wants; but it requires that he get out his old climbing boots. He’ll have to do the job while climbing the north face of the Eiger — certainly one of the most dangerous climbs in the world.

I’m not completely sure of this, but I believe that this movie was also Clint Eastwood’s directorial debut. He not only stars in it, but he produced and directed it as well!

Ah, the glorious 70’s! The clothing, the hairstyles, the attitudes towards women, etc. It is quite fun to watch and chuckle at now. Hemlock is a kind of James Bond-ian super hero. Remarkably gifted not only at killing bad guys but also at bedding beautiful women, enjoying fine wine and food, and being an art expert. The story ofen requires you to suspend your sense of reality and to have a bit of a sense of humor. If you enjoy these kinds of thrillers, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

What sets this movie apart for me is the many climbing sequences! I am an avid climber and I know of no other ‘Hollywood’ movie that does as good a job as this one at showing real mountain climbing. The climbing scenes in the ‘Eiger Sanction’ are breathtaking and quite realistic. The scenes on the Eiger were actually filmed on location on the Eiger Nordwand itself! Remarkable! Apparently Clint is/was a bit of a climber himself, and took great pains to portray the climbing in as realistic a light as possible. Three cheers for Clint! On a sad note, one of the stuntmen/riggers was killed while filming the scenes on the Eiger.

Most other mass-market climbing films completely ruin the climbing scenes to make them more dramatic or exciting (Vertical Limit, Cliffhanger, K2, etc.); or are documentaries trying to cash in on the current Everest fever (and are more interested in the ‘death zone’ aspect of high altitude climbing than actually showing real climbing).

Bottom line for me: I bought this VHS for its depiction of the climbing more than the story line. However, it’s also a pretty decent thriller as well as a fun trip back to the early 70’s.

This is one of several DVD sets that TCM/WHV is producing over the next year or so that brings the classic films to the masses at affordable prices. All of these films are available in more deluxe editions, so this is mainly for those who are not interested in extra features. Every one of these is a five star film for musical lovers.

Singin in the Rain is my favorite movie musical and perhaps the best movie musical ever made. Thrown together quickly after the success of “An American in Paris” I love it for its comedy, its timing, and its wonderful plag iarism of just about every song written for MGM movies between 1929 and 1940. If you are interested in extras this film is available as Singin’ in the Rain (Two-Disc Special Edition). The two disc edition has some wonderful extras about the transition from silent film to sound.

The Band Wagon is one of Fred Astaire’s best MGM musicals. Fred plays an aging song and dance man whose friends are writing a new Broadway show and want Fred to star. They enlist a Broadway headliner to help them get financial backing, but the show the veteran describes is a musical version of Faust, not the fun romp that was originally planned. This one is available in a more deluxe version as The Band Wagon (Two-Disc Special Edition).

The Easter Parade stars Fred Astaire again. After being rejected by his girlfriend/star, on a lark he offers Judy Garland a job as his partner, claiming he could make her as big a star as his ex-girlfriend. The next day he regrets his offer, but he has to go through with it when Judy shows up for rehearsal after having already quit her current job. Again, if you like extra features it is available as Easter Parade (Two-Disc Special Edition).

Meet Me in St. Louis stars Judy Garland and is about - absolutely nothing. However, this musical which has no big events and no real dramatic climax will grow on you. It is about a year in the life of an extended St. Louis family. The father has accepted a job offer in New York City, and nobody in the family is happy about it. This midwestern group does not want to give up their easy-going way of life and all of their friends for the big treeless city. Worse yet, the move is scheduled to take place at Christmas. This is available in the deluxe Meet Me In St. Louis (Two-Disc Special Edition). The best thing about this 2-disc edition is the inclusion of the 1930 Vitaphone short “Bubbles”. Besides being one of the strangest little musical shorts ever, it stars Judy Garland back when she was still one of the Gumm Sisters.

Without even knowing if “TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: American Musicals (The Band Wagon / Meet Me in St. Louis / Singin’ in the Rain / Easter Parade)” is offering anything in the way of Special Features, I still can wholeheartedly recommend this collection for two reasons; first, these are, arguably, the four finest examples of the Classic MGM musical (acknowledging that “An American in Paris” and “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers” are equally deserving); second, that these are being ’sponsored’ by Turner Classic Movies, the premiere cable film site, and Ted Turner’s Valentine to Classic films, and all of us that love them.

Each film is magnificent; “Meet Me in St. Louis” stands, with “The Wizard of Oz” and “A Star Is Born”, as the ‘definitive’ Judy Garland films, and “Meet Me…” is the most down-to-earth and totally charming, a slice of Americana at it’s most irresistable; “Easter Parade” teams Judy with Fred Astaire, making a comeback from a brief ‘retirement’ to replace injured Gene Kelly in the lead, in a sweet, nostalgic tale flavored with Irving Berlin tunes; Fred is in top form in the autobiographical “The Band Wagon”, as a fading movie star returning to Broadway (in a hilarious send-up of the ‘New Wave’ stage shows of the era), capped by a slam-bang multiple climax finale and the fabulous “That’s Entertainment” capper; and the greatest of all MGM musicals, “Singin’ in the Rain”, the Gene Kelly/Stanley Donen masterpiece of Hollywood at the dawn of sound pictures. As Frank Sinatra once said, “They don’t get better than this!”

So, if you’ve been waiting to build your musical DVD collection, here’s a great starting point!

This video is a masterful work of art. It had me entranced the moment they took me up Magnolia Lane to Tiger’s 18th hole fist pumping celebration. This video truly shows what a great course Augusta National really is, and shows how amazing some of the shots Tiger played really were. You see how Tiger blows it past the fairway bunkers and into the history books. You will notice how Tiger eats up the dreaded Amen Corner and sets a record for largest margin of victory in a major championship that even the great Nicklaus couldn’t match. If Tiger keeps playing the way he did in those ‘97 Masters he might really live up to Jack(Nicklaus) and Arnie’s (Palmer) prediction of winning more Masters than the two of them combined.

Recommend viewing to all who love beautiful places and golf. Also, to anyone who fanticizes about other things, ie….
