This is a ample DVD edition. The deleted scenes are hilarious - and some probably should have been left in the movie (like the “other peoples’ money - purchase the day” scene) . The alternate endings are also fair wintry, but they definitely chose the best ending for the trusty theatrical release. The retrospective documentary is also quite engaging, as you score some insight into the production, casting, etc… of the movie, as well as the impact it has had on comedy fans over the years. If you search through the interactive menus enough, you will even acquire a couple of hidden features.
Dumb and Dumber lives on as a standout comedy film. It unprejudiced never seems to bag musty… I’m fair mad to finally collect some bonus footage from this comedy classic!
If there is a film out there that has created such an rift among viewers as Lifeless and Dumber, I’d like to peruse it. It seems that everyone I know either loves the movie or abhorrs it. It is easy to witness why people esteem the movie. The movie is outrageously laughable, and I hold most of the film’s critics will concede this. However, without fail, the number one critique of the film by opponents is, “but it’s so tiresome.” This is like saying you don’t like Schindler’s List because “it’s too serious.” Of course it’s wearisome! That’s the point! Unfortunately, pounding the keys on the keyboard harder isn’t helping to record my sentiments here. First of all, this is not a movie you can only notice once. Clear, one viewing will chronicle for all the “sizable laughs”, Lloyd’s airport fiasco, Harry’s bathroom adventure and the ski assume accident. If you gross your judgement on the gigantic laughs alone, I can study how the movie could seem innane and childish. I suggest every critic of Boring and Dumber should notice the movie a few more times for the shrimp laughs. There are so many jokes and they are so clever that I net myself appreciating the movie more each time I peruse it. For example, in the scene with the situation trooper (Harland Williams) the center of comedic attention is clearly the point at which the officer drinks the beer bottle paunchy of urine. This “vast laugh” often steals the limelight away from the smaller laughs in the same scene. While handing the bottle over to the trooper, Lloyd accidentally spills some of the urine on Harry, to Harry’s clear displeasure. When the officer realizes what it is he has swallowed, one can faintly hear Lloyd suggest, “Tic Tac sir? ” It is subtle moments like these that pervade the movie and build it enormous every time you peek it. I believe fragment of the spot with the movie is that there are simply too many jokes in the movie. Many of the more subtle, clever jokes net overshadowed by bigger ones, leaving some feeling like the movie is simple toilet humor. This is a grave injustice. Perhaps the most complexing bellow concerning the distinguished reception of Listless and Dumber is the overwhelming acclaim of the Farelly brother’s follow-up film, There’s Something About Mary. The two movies are eerily similar. Both involve a road breeze starting in Providence. These trips are in search of a woman who is intention to reliable for her respective suitor. In both, the protagonists encounter pain and comedic moments along the procedure. Yet everyone I know loves Mary, while Plain and Dumber recieves mixed reviews. The only considerable incompatibility between the two films is that in Lifeless and Dumber, our hero doesn’t derive the girl. Perhaps this is why reception of the movie is so clearly delineated along gender lines. Women, I can only rob, want Dull and Dumber to be a romantic comedy, which it is clearly not. Mary can be seen perhaps as fitting this genre because it has the textbook ‘boy gets girl’ ending (although my mother wanted Brett Favre to gather the girl) . The fact that Dumber doesn’t plunge into the obligatory cliche ending is, in my thought, a colossal section of it’s appeal. Whether you like it or not, you should lift a copy of Humdrum and Dumber and spy it fifty times like I have. Then I reflect you will understand that being expressionless is “genius, sheer genius.”
