I love my Zyliss spinner, but…
I’ve had my Zyliss salad spinner for a few years, and now I’m replacing it. And it’s for the dumbest reason, too! Most of the unit is lasting fine. I use it at least 4-5 times per week, and I fill it pretty much every time. However, I must not be gentle enough with it. The spinning action is transmitted to the basket by 6 little plastic tabs on the edges of the lid mechanism. One by one, those tabs have broken off, and now the mechanism no longer fully engages with the basket. I can still get it to spin up if I pull and pull and pull; the basket spins slowly, then faster, and then finally catches up with the lid mechanism and responds fully to my pulling. So it’s still usable; just not very practical. I wish I could fix the little tabs instead of replacing the whole thing, but I guess at least I will have an extra basket and bowl if I ever want to do two batches of something without emptying the bowl.

Edit to add: I got my new spinner, and am pleased to note that the plastic tabs that I spoke of have been replaced with much sturdier ones — instead of being one layer, they’re now each a little square of plastic, which should be nearly impossible to break. I’m very happy with the new version, and would change my review to 5 stars if I could!

Love it
I use it on all my salads. I especially like it because I can rinse a pre-cut bag of greens in the strainer, which freshens it, then spin it and it comes out fresh as if I had just chopped it myself. Spinach, pre-cut cole slaw, iceberg, romaine, I’ve noticed it works tasty with it all. I’ll throw in cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, cucumber slices, mushrooms and what not with iceberg lettuce, prep it with this product, then change my mind and saran wrap it for another day; the salad was still fresh two days later. Amazing salad spinner. I don’t give pencil whipped reviews and if this salad spinner was crap, I would tell you. To be honest, I wish I’d bought one 10 years ago.

Make Quick Salads For Dinner
This handy device works well to dry lettuce quickly so that now if I decide I get home too tired too cook I can make salad fast. The puul cord makes this work fun too. The only draw back is cleaning the cover. Water gets trapped and takes a while to dry properly. Otehrwise a neat little gadget.

Very nice, if you can care for it
The BEST knife in my block, for now. Just remember to wipe it after every use, even if leaving for just a minute. The high carbon in the blade, which gives it stunningly sharp angles, also contributes to extremely fast rusting.

This knife is insanely excellent. If you do not have a top quality knife, you are missing out.

Go into your kitchen. Look at your pathetic knife collection.

Realize you really need like, three knives max.

When you have given all of your craptastic knives away to charity/college students, get yourself a _nice_ santoku or chef’s knife, a matching “utility” knife, and maybe a bread knife if that sort of thing is your bag.

THAT’s IT.

You see that Farberware knifeblock you thought was a good buy at $50? Junk.

Those knives your mom gave you when you moved out? She was going to throw them away if you didn’t take them. Garbage.

And for the love of YHWH, stop buying stuff that says “Emeril” on it. Do not encourage this man. You always kinda thought he sucked. You were right to think this.

You are an adult now. Put away your childish kitchen tools. Clean out your drawers. Space is your new friend.

If you do get this knife, which I think you should, please treat it with respect. I don’t mean the kind of respect you treat your grandma with. I mean the kind of respect you show to a drunken bouncer at an Italian disco, who will dismember you if given half a chance.

Oh, and learn to make a good mirepoix. Thank me later.

The BEST knife
This knife is beautiful in every way. I have never owned a better one! It doubles as a knife/spatula! It is the perfect weight in my hand; I never feel like it is going to slip. It is precision-sharp and makes chopping/slicing a breeze, whether it is veggies or meat. It is very easy to clean. Last but not least, it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I can’t reccomend it highly enough.

Great Item for Measuring!
As much as I like to cook, I don’t like cluttering up my kitchen with gadgets that don’t earn their keep. This one does!
It’s very handy for liquids or dry ingredients, having 6 different measuring columns on the sides to measure either dry or liquid ingredients in cups, ounces or ml. The liquids conveniently have that extra grace section at the top so that you don’t have to fill to the edge, as you do with the dry ingredients, such as flour. What I especially appreciate it for are the sticky, gooey things like peanut butter, honey, molasses, butter, etc. It’s incredibly easy to measure out exactly how much you need; a quick push up from the bottom and the ingredient is completely ejected just where you need it. You can measure as little as 1/8cp or as much as 2 cps. It’s easy to clean it afterwards, too.

measuring creamy or sticky stuff?
This is great for measuing yogurt, applesauce, molasses, honey and stuff like that. There is no need to use this for normal liquid or dry stuff but when you work with those other things, you can measure accurately and get it all out. I was inspired to buy this watching Alton Brown use either it or a similar product.

Good but not great
It does exactly what you’d think it does. It’s actually pretty cool, but so far I haven’t actually used it as much as I thought I would. For some reason, I still find a 2-cup measuring cup more useful.

Update:

I’ve had this for several months now, and I’ve noticed that even though the item is dishwasher safe and there’s no actual damage, water gets trapped inside the plunger-piece and sloshes around after I run it through the dishwasher. Doesn’t affect the usability, just kind of annoying to hear it sloshing around.

I am very new to baking and decorating and this was kind of idiot proof. I made super cute cupcakes for my son’s Halloween Party at school.

Great
I’ve had the rocket grill for about 8 months now and absuletly love it. No clean up and everything comes out perfect. All the fat goes to the bottom of the parchment bag. I highly recommend it.

Rockin good eats!!
Love this product. Great food and zero cleanup. No one should be without this product. Great for grilled veggies, panni’s, etc. Can cook frozen fish fillets in as little as five and a half minutes, grill to plate and the parchment keeps it from drying out. A must have item in the kitchen.

Great appliance for one person household
The appliance is great for one person household. If more than one ,bags would be too costly. Has a tendency to dry out frozen foods if you follow the suggested times.
I bought this appliance from a store that didn’t include a recipe booklet and I called Sunbeam and all they sent me was a duplicate guide times chart.
Another asset is no cleanups required. My kind of appliance

Really pleased
I had never heard of Zojirushi before but I was being very picky, holding out for a coffeemaker that makes 4-6 “cups” (aka two mugs,) uses a cone-bottom filter, and isn’t black or white. This is the ONLY coffe maker - on Earth, apparently - that met all my criteria. (OK I still would have liked it better if it came in red, but the soft gray color is kind of classy!) And I have to say I’m really pleased with it. The design is simple and elegant and the removable water reservoir is a great convenience; I don’t have to pull the whole coffee maker out from under the overhanging cabinets to get enough room to put the water in.

It also makes really good coffee, mainly because of the cone-bottom filter (I’ll never go back to flat-bottom filters!) And the built in carbon filter makes more of a difference than I had expected.

OK some reviewers below were on about how it doesn’t make coffee “hot enough” and I was like, bonus! I still don’t understand how the rest of the human race can drink hot coffee straight from the pot without scalding their tongues. I was really looking forward to being able to drink coffee without having to put an ice cube in the cup first. (To be fair, I do drink it black.) I was so confident about this due to the “not hot enough” reviews that when I poured my first cup, I just took a great big sip - and scalded my tongue. Argh!! Maybe it’s just that the warming plate doesn’t keep coffee at boiling temperature, but it shouldn’t: that would ruin the flavor of the coffee (and I’ve had a few cheap coffee makers that did scorch the coffee in a very short time.)

Anyway if you are the sole coffee drinker in your home and you like GOOD coffee, and you don’t dig the flavor-limitations or wastefulness of those pod-based things, this is a perfect coffee-maker for you. (And if they ever make it in Red, I’ll be the first in line!)

The Best In Its Category
I spent a lot of time online looking for a 4 to 5 cup coffeemaker to suit my needs. There are the usual suspects: Mr. Coffee, Braun, etc, that seem to get universally bad to mediocre reviews from people, especially people who know anything about coffee. I decided to skip all of those and look for something that would make a really good cup of coffee.
My choices became limited to two coffeemakers: one made by a company called Bodum (which looks like some kind of laboratory beaker) and the Zojirushi Zutto. The Bodum model supposedly performed well and made excellent coffee under ideal conditions, but many people who reviewed it said that it was prone to mishaps such as overboiling. So I went with the Zojirushi. I was not disappointed.
The Zutto is extremely well-designed and functional. The coffee filter is in the lid of the pot (not attached to the maker, like most autodrip models), and there is a removable charcoal water filter to remove chlorine, etc. It’s very easy to clean, attractive and perfect for a small space. After running water through it a few times to remove the burned-plastic taste you would get from any new coffeemaker, I brewed up a pot of Green Mountain. The coffee was excellent, the best I’ve ever had from an automatic drip maker. After the pot was left on the burner for 10 minutes, the coffee still tasted good, with only a very slight hint of a burned taste. I’m assuming this means that the heating element is set to the correct temperature for keeping the coffee warm.
There were no problems with pouring; you just have to place your thumb over part of the lid when you pour. The Zojirushi Zutto is a well thought-out and sturdy product, far better than anything comparable from any American company.

Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker
This coffeemaker was a bit more expensive than others available, but the engineering on this thing is just unbelievable. My wife and I have been using it for about three months now, and we still marvel at how well it works, and the quality of the coffee it makes. Some of the things we really like include the fact that we can take the removable resevoir to the sink to fill it rather than try to pour water into the machine with the possibility of spilling it; the conical container for the grounds is in the coffee pot, so it is very easy to empty the grounds, and coffee doesn’t drip onto the heating plate after removing the pot; it uses a #2 paper filter, and I’ve found that a similarly sized Swiss Gold foil filter also works for those who don’t want the paper filter to soak up the coffee bean oils (but you’ll need to be a little more careful to hold the top on the pot when pouring the coffee if you don’t remove the filter first; And I could go on with the good things. I don’t believe it has an automatic shutoff on the hotplate, or at least we haven’t found one, but we don’t use it anyway. All in all, I think that using this is like driving a Lexus instead of a ten year old junker. It’s a neat piece of equipment, and it makes great coffee.

Works wonderfully!
We love this little frother. It produces a lot of froth in just seconds. We’ve also found you don’t need a frothing pitcher with this one, you can just froth your milk in the mug you’re going to use, then add the coffee, and the froth floats to the top. Highly recommend it!

creme frother
this little gadget or any similar on amazon that is battery operated is so handy ..i whip half and half for my coffee and it makes it into whip creme..yes just like starbucks..i changed the batteries and it had more power than when i first got it..i whip heavy creme into whip creme in seconds for dessert..love it and when you lay it against the side of container that you are blending in it stops..until you pick it up again..love it..bought one for all my friends as well.

Milk frother
I love having whipped milk with my coffee–feels like I’m at Starbucks but without the high price. This is a great frother, and I highly recommend it! I like the fact that it’s handheld and doesn’t require plugging in.

Good but not quite perfect.
The shaker is not of the best design, but it gets the job done. It has everything you could possibly need to get a home bar going at a reasonable price. The components are all made using high quality materials and everything is durable.

cocktail anyone?
I love the way this set looks on my bar. Classic. The shaker is the style I wanted, it leaks once in a while, but I think it is more me than the shaker. I have found it is best to keep it more upright when you shake, then it doesn’t leak. It is great how the set includes all the basic tools and has a place for everything. I thought the price was a deal as well. The details do not specify it but the jigger is a 1 oz. / 2 oz. jigger. Overall, very satisfied.
