I have the new pressing of this on DVD, which is in corpulent conceal, but now I can finally have the widescreen version. So, if you’re looking for a scare movie with tons of gore and blood spewing everywhere, this movie is not for you. This movie is for teenagers, and that’s when I saw this movie. I watched it in theaters, and I was zigzag. The movie has everything; humor, expansive special effects, and a lot of the actors are beneficial. I won’t write a summary of the set, since there’s one already provided by Amazon.com, so I’ll honest say that if you don’t mind a bit of camp and some cheesy dialog, this movie is for you. I know I’m buying this the day it comes out.

Afterthought. After comparing both the fresh elephantine cloak version and this newly released version, I can without a doubt say that this is truly the wide shroud theatrical version. Thank you Lionsgate for releasing it its lawful produce. My hat is off to you.

Glen (Stephen Dorff) is your typical 12 year musty boy who has a pal named Terry (Louis Tripp) are having a nice weekend together as Glen’s parents are gone away with his sister Al (Christa Denton) babysits them and throws a party. However Glen and Terry look a queer hole in the backyard and employ a special demonic rock album to summon whatever there is from that hole, yet it does happen as they accidently unleash demons and many spoiled forces turning their night into hell for staunch as they must earn a blueprint to shut the gates to hell forever.

Excellent cult 80’s supernatural panic thriller from Canada became a runaway box-office hit in May of 1987 here in the US and Canada, this movie marked the debut of Blade actor Stephen Dorff as a young boy. The film does have a nice understanding of how a rock album can be dilapidated to summon noxious forces and satanic rituals and has good special effects for it’s time like the demons and many other memorable moments that are kind of graphic for a PG-13 rating like the eyeball in the hand sequence and some stabbings. This is a very HP Lovecraft kind of timid house and occult thrill-ride that never lets go and pulls you in as it’s pure fun for everyone and always been one of my accepted scare movies for years.

This DVD is a upright improvement over the bareboned edition with bright remastered describe and sound quality with extras like audio commentary, trailer, and featurettes
