The series starts slowly as we become familiar with the characters and the game, but picks up as Misaki learns to control Hikaru. Misaki always has the ability to guide her and Hikaru’s destiny, but she lacks self-assurance. But by skillfully observing others and events, she builds on her natural talents and overcomes her contain self-imposed limitations. Yes, it’s an worn chronicle with few surprises. But the fable is rarely woven so well. You couldn’t compose a cast of main characters this original and amazing without losing record continuity. But in context of the game, it works like magic. As a result, Hikaru is the cutest, most compelling thing in the point to, pulling anime double-duty as both star and mascot. It’s a total winner in `supporting character’ earn. We care about Hikaru as mighty as any `real’ person in the point to, if not more.

The series is rated for ages 13 and over, although I’m not determined why. There is no language or sexual teach that made me hesitate allowing my 10 and 7-year-olds to survey. Some might be queasy at Misaki being so trustful of this stranger (Icchan) she meets in episode one, or the few `pervert’ references early in the demonstrate.

This drama location in a tiny town in Ireland is less essential for its substance than for the days-gone-by nostalgia feel of it. It is a wonderfully simple program; a sort of Andy Griffith Expose foundation enlivened by modernity. After having viewed this series several times I am almost tempted to suggest newcomers to the series to originate with season 4 and then “flashback,” in conclude, to the first 3 seasons so as to slay with the most dramatic episodes of the entire series (which are the last 2 of season 3) .

This is a heart warming series. The acting and variety of characters is improbable. The filming will get you want to visit Ireland. This series will earn you laugh, yowl and at times sit at the edge of your seat. Deals with true life in a silly yet tender procedure with plenty of comedy for relief. Had two of the main actors not passed away and Colin Farrow not left, this might quiet be running? American TV could learn alot from this production. This is one to recognize over and over.

I watched this Blu-ray last night and the recount quality is incredible and definitely on par with Anchor Bay’s previous releases (Halloween ‘79, Dawn of the Tiring, ‘78, Day of the Tedious ‘85 and Masters of Fright Season 1) . I haven’t checked out the special features yet, but this release is worth the notice for relate quality alone. Anchor Bay have really station the bar. Now I wish they’d instruct release dates for Hellraiser 2, Creepshow 2, The Hills Have Eyes (’77), the Phantasm films, Sleepaway Camp and Masters of Scare Season 2, not to mention Come Gloomy (which I judge might now be licensed to Lionsgate) . Thanks for a vast job AB!!!

Anchor Bay has really assign together a nice Blu Ray here. Lots of bonus features and an favorable presentation of a classic anxiety movie. I didn’t query the movie to gaze this qualified, especially after owning stop a few Anchor Bay DVDs. “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” is a clever French film that begins as a romance and ends up as a thriller. The movie is in French with English subtitles. These do not bother me in the least, but I am well aware that some people refuse to perceive a movie in a foreign language. I say that that’s their loss.

In HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT, Audrey Tautou once again has proven that she cannot be pigeonholed into the type of character she played in AMELIE. Each of her films validates the claim that Tautou is great more versatile and talented. In this film Tautou plays Angelique, a young woman in adore with a married man. Angelique waits patiently and anxiously on the sidelines while his marriage deteriorates and he comes to claims her. While the audience is treated to what appears to be a typical romance during the first half of this film, the movie is suddenly rewound and an entirely current perspective on the same events is revealed. Multiple perspectives lead to original viewpoints.

HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT is a lustrous thriller movie which certainly caught me by surprise. When I rented this DVD I didn’t demand to be treated with a film that delved deeper than a French romance, and I didn’t put a question to to be fooled. Highly recommended.

I spy Michael Moore as a sort of recent day Robin Hood, for although he does not acquire from the rich to give to the terrible,he rather exposes, embarasses the priviledged few and prove it to the ordinary man and woman.For example the episode where he tries to succor the illegal Mexicans who were about to be deported because the hotel they worked for informed the INS on them after they formed a union (and not before!) and succeeding in not only keeping the illegals in the country after petitions, but getting his enjoy attend at the hotel for violation of health and building codes, this was a triumph for the underdog against the double standards and exploitation they faced.

Or the episode where he stages a spurious funeral for a dying man who needs a life saving transplant his insurance company refuses to pay for, while exposing the expansive profits that company made. When the comapny finally agrees to screen the operation and the patient in the audience greets Moore with tears in his eyes, this too is a great triumph.

In this sense I behold him as a original Robin Hood.

Awful is the last word to portray this astonishing series..It will gain you laugh your head off, while opening your eyes and thinking..hard..

First, I unbiased want to say that I tend to be politically conservative, but I usually be pleased Michael Moore’s work for what it is - entertainment engineered with a political slant. It’s nothing more and nothing less than that.

That said, these reviews should be for Michael Moore’s expose “The Terrible Truth”. I have watched almost all of these episodes for the show’s two year urge. The first year’s shows were shot before a live audience and you can hear the audience laughing at Moore’s clips. The second year of shows were filmed in Times Square with no audience. The episodes for the first year were more amusing, with the majority of the clips focused on corporate issues and crooks. Highlights include a group of people who had lost their tell boxes to cancer from smoking singing Christmas carols to tabacco companies and their lobbyists, Moore’s hump to many Manpower temporary offices to seek how the employees would react to his visit (since Moore got his hands on an internal memo from Manpower instructing employees how to deal with Moore if he showed up to their offices) and the adventures of Crackers the Crime Fighting Chicken at Disney World. There were many palatable moments in the first season of shows.

The second season, maybe because there is no audience, seems grand, distinguished darker than the first. Not a lot of laughs in the second year. As an example, a account is done about a healthcare facility that had been fined for awful care of the elderly. One of Moore’s reporters gets a group of elderly folks together and takes them to a martial arts instructor for lessons. The newly trained elderly martial arts masters are then taken to the offices of said healthcare provider to exhibit them what they can question if they ever try to mistreat older people in the future. And we are treated to a prove of 75+ year weak people trying to do punches and leg kicks. It was actually so ridiculous that it was painful to peep. There’s many more misses than hits in year two, which probably explains why there was no year three.

I mean those first two were titanic and how could this one possibly match that? After I finished watching it I can say I was not at all disappointed. I mediate many people were expecting this to be objective like Spider-Man 1 and 2. Spider-Man 3 does win more risks than its predecessors by having more villains than usual, but It collected manages to entertain, spark emotion and above all inspire and bring out the kid in many of us. It is like the first two with many of the same characters returning, but where Spider-Man 3 differs is when we earn to gaze the dismal side (with the murky suit) of Spider-Man which takes the movie to a whole modern level. I have to say this movie was AWESOME. This movie truly has a enormous stand out cast. TOBEY MAGUIRE who plays Spider-Man did a broad job as usual and brought emotion to the character that made him more human than any other hero in a humorous book inspired movie. The action scenes are improbable and they acquire you jump out of your seat a few times. All that along with the emotional scuttle that Spider-Man takes you on, that’s what truly makes this movie so mammoth and special. This is one Roller-Coaster poke that I highly relieve any one to search for. The ending is also a surprise and I will not give it away, but I will say some people liked it and some people did not, Go figure. I did not occupy in to all the hype of this movie, or the negative things some critics had to say. I went to ogle Spider-Man 3 to be entertained and I was not at all disappointed. With a expected DVD and blu-ray release date of November 2007 this is certain to be one mountainous year for Spider-Man fans!

This video was valid. It broke my heart to leer the results of the bright-eyed diminutive boy after being establish on medication for the rest of his life. He stands out because you can examine the results of many years of experimentation. We certainly like to play God, don’t we. The Nazis had nothing on us when it comes to damaging the minds of our young. Who says that every child given us is supposed to fit into a positive mold. What if they do daydream, forget instructions, have fits, wiggle…it’s our job to mumble them, not medicate them. I guess we don’t have time. This, of course, seems worthy quicker since we must hasten off to our principal business of the day. What correct have doctors, teachers, or parents for that matter have to alter the entire personality of a person. I would like to inspect more of this type of documentation.

One of my all-time current “Simpsons” episodes is “Brother’s Shrimp Helper” in which Bart is establish on Focus-In. The episode mocks how nowadays there’s a pill to “honest” any trait parents or teachers don’t like in a child, usually male. However, Bart begins concentrating in class and ends wrapping himself in aluminum foil and promoting conspiracy theories. The doctors themselves want to unprejudiced prescribe more drugs and seem like they are objective rolling the dice on Bart’s health. What is presented as hilarious on “The Simpsons” is presented here as a major dilemma for many families, and possibly the nation as a whole.

The Frontline episode speaks for how doctors are feeding children more and more drugs without intellectual the risks of all these medications at such a young age. Further, it states that while drug companies test drugs on adults, they have done few tests on children. The narrator says, “Well, no one wants to recognize a child in a placebo group,” somewhat pointing blame at the companies. However, I wonder if parents refuse to attach their children in medical experiments whereas ill adults may be more than willing to play a role in a test.

This work can be seen as anti-climactic. It shows children and teens who committed suicide after being on these drugs. However, it also showed the suicide rate increasing when children-in-need were not taking such drugs. A severe catch-22 is established here. Only at the demolish of the work does an expert say, “Let’s do like we did with pediatric cancer; have doctors try things and portray it to their colleagues and as a group they can decipher what works and what doesn’t.”

The work doesn’t stammer about demographics, but I had read somewhere that boys are more likely to suffer from ADHD than girls. They showed a girl being interviewed whose retort for all problems was “Let’s objective slash that person’s head off!” I was floored by that image. A boy saying such a thing should be equally hideous, but I must admit my believe flaw in gasping when hearing a petite girl say something so violent and destructive.

I don’t have children and I can easily sidestep the spanking controversy. But I must admit that everyday folk often say a estimable spankypoo would solve all this acting-up better than these questionable drugs. The Frontline episode says nothing on that argument. Some also said at-home parents, usually women, could solve these problems, but our rush-rush society unbiased wants to true all with medicine. Also, some have questioned whether pollutants in the fresh environment are causing the increase in autistic numbers. I do wonder if this rise in ADHD may have some environmental causes. Maybe if we went greener, fewer young people would have these intense mental challenges.

“AIR FORCE ONE” features a comely solid transfer on Blu-ray. Video is presented in 1080p High Definition (aspect ration of 2:40:1) and one thing that I will accomplish certain is that while many films featured in the 90’s tend to have a DNR, shapely, waxy or soft conclude in terms of relate quality, the ample news is that “AIR FORCE ONE” does not.

The film features a high number of action scenes and gunfire, music, mechanical sounds from the vehicles, jet engines flying, helicopter rotors spinning, it would seem that so mighty was achieve into the emphasis of having a fantastic soundtrack that “AIR FORCE ONE” truly delivers. And these are not short bursts of audio, there are plenty of scenes that spend this explosive audio throughout the film.

I was absolutely in fright of how all the speakers were being utilized, especially my surround channels and I also noticed a few times where my subwoofer would employ obscene frequency sounds. “AIR FORCE ONE” is an action thriller that truly delivers with its audio that I can say that this is one of the better sounding action thrillers from the 1990’s that honest shines on Blu-ray. And impartial to contemplate that this film is 12 years faded. I was absolutely thrilled by the audio quality of the film.

JUDGMENT CALL:

I am a gigantic Harrison Ford fan and I watched this film immediately when it came out on theaters. My first impression was that Harrison Ford should definitely be President because it was like a combination of a President meets DIE HARD’s John McClane. Well, not really but Harrison Ford’s role as a President who fights help was definitely a highlight throughout the film.

One thing that I know is when a film is being directed by Wolfgang Petersen, the viewer is definitely going to be treated with an exceptional, action-packed film and “AIR FORCE ONE” is impartial that. Even 12 years later and this film serene holds up quite well. Petersen and everyone enthusiastic in this film did a astonishing job and I have to say that this is my popular Harrison Ford action thriller to reach out in the 1990’s. He manages to have the suave, charisma and that witness and feel of an action star but in this case, he’s the President of the United States.

But for those who believe the DVD of “AIR FORCE ONE”, you may be wondering if its worth the double dip? I have to respond with an indecent “YES!!!”. The soundtrack of “AIR FORCE ONE” is top notch and I will say that its one of the most immersive soundtracks I have heard on Blu-ray. Also, bare in mind, this is not a current action film, this was a film released in the Summer of 1997 and it can compete with some of the modern, bigger releases on Blu-ray. That is how aesthetic this film sounds on Blu-ray.

If there were faults in the Blu-ray transfer, its the fact that there are not many special features included. Fair the audio commentary but no HD trailer and no making of featurette. The other thing is that although the film looks better than many 1990’s film on Blu-ray and avoids the waxy, DNR recognize but with its HD transfer, grain is elevated. Though not too poor, it is noticeable and this may be a shrimp explain for some viewers but I tend to be on side of grain is fragment of film and high definition elevates the glimpse of grain. And personally, I would rather grasp the grain than a transfer with a lot of DNR or edge enhancement.

Overall, “AIR FORCE ONE” is a glowing action-packed thriller and a film that Harrison Ford truly shines in. And as for the Blu-ray, this is the definitive version of “AIR FORCE ONE” to contain!

So how in the world are these guys going to storm Air Force One, “the most accumulate aircraft in the world? ” Hmmm….and why do Korshunov and Secret Service agent Gibbs (Xander Berkeley) exchange that gawk as they pass each other, eh?

Petersen and screenwriter Andrew W. Marlowe never do account for Gibbs’ motivations for his subsequent actions (as the director admits in the audio commentary track), but by the time audiences launch asking those “trusty life” questions about plausibility, the sheer adrenaline run provided by this action-packed film suppresses the “yeah, apt” response to its premise. The Air Force (which willingly participated in the production of this film) says there is no speed pod in Air Force One’s list of defensive measures, and viewers know that no sane person, whether terrorist or not, is going to fire automatic weapons inside an airborne plane unless he or she knew the mission was going to fail anyway.

Mixed in with the gunfire and explosions that punctuate the film, Petersen and Marlowe endow their characters with depth and believability. Petersen makes viewers care about each person being held hostage, warts and all, so that when one is lost, it feels dependable. Even Korshunov is played in such intention that his motivations feel good and heartfelt, even if his cause is not unprejudiced.

Yet Petersen and his cast and crew form audiences forget these dead sincere life facts. By the time the credits roll to Jerry Goldsmith’s rousing Raze Title Suite, the viewer will wish the recent occupant of the Oval Office were replaced by Harrison Ford’s President Marshall, who is not only a man of political integrity but also a man of action.

The Israeli movie “The Bubble”, a creation of director Eytan Fuchs/Fox and his screenplay-writer husband of 18 years, is a MUST Eye. I’ve had the DVD since August 2007, because I ordered the Dwelling 2 (PAL) edition directly from Israel. I like it even more every time I witness it. In the film festival circuit, it has been getting standing ovations, and for fine reason.

The film works well on a number of levels: It’s a very touching blissful admire account, told without coyness or artifice. It’s a very revealing ogle into both sides of a conflict most of us only hear about on the news. It’s a admire letter to the unusual, hedonistic city that is Tel Aviv. I have to say I like it even more than “Brokeback Mountain” — which had a number of aspects I did not like. Aid in the days when I opinion the Academy Awards actually meant anything, I might have hoped “The Bubble” would salvage Best Foreign Film. But now that it’s obvious that an Oscar has no sincere meaning as an award for fair quality, I hope the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs will step in and bear the gap. But you must witness this movie!

I’ve been a fan of Eytan Fox since I saw the tragic like sage, “Yossi and Jagger”. I wasn’t aware of “The Bubble” until I saw a review of it in a unusual catalogue. As luck would have it, a local video store fair added a copy and I snatched it up.

Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed although I must admit, the inevitable ending broke my heart. The epic follows three young Israelis who portion an apartment in Tel Aviv. From their history, it seems there has been a revolving door of failed romances. However, after a fateful meeting at a checkpoint between Noam, one of the roommates, and Ashraf, a Palestinian, a good fancy begins to blossom. Fox makes the romance very loyal and watching the two young men from very different worlds plunge in savor is handled tenderly—-a deep disagreement to the violence that surrounds the city they live in (their perfect itsy-bitsy “bubble”) .

Though Ashraf has no Israeli ID, the roommates sustain him in their apartment and arrange a job for him to quit in the city. Once his identity is blown, though, he panics and returns home to prepare for the upcoming wedding of his sister. His sister, Rana, is engaged to Jihad, a radical, who gain terrorism is the means to getting the message across to the Israelis. In a couple of base events that affects both Noam and Ashraf, the ruin of the two lovers short-lived utopia is plot in motion. The final scene between Noam and Ashraf was heart rendering and left me unsettled and wishing that the troubles in that very complex and volatile location could be solved once and for all. But as Ashraf’s protest over says “They probably never will.”

Its a shame that the Oscars didn’t peer an extraordinary film like this in their “foreign film” category. This film is as reliable as “Brokeback Mountain” or any of the other contenders and, in my thought, shows their continued closed-mindedness to contented themed movies. The moments between Noam and Ashraf are actual and as loving as you’ll peruse in any other film dealing with romance. By the ending, you are praying the two will net a draw to be together, away from the detestable killings and death that seems to be a share of every day life in the middle east.

Three of the actors were standouts. Ohan Knoller, also of “Yossi and Jagger” is very qualified as the mellow, music loving Noam. Knoller gives Noam a very layed befriend and easy going persona, who’s also sensitive and kind. He’s a very charming actor and I examine forward to seeing him in more roles. Also, the heavenly and equally charming, Daniela Wircer, (as one character calls her “an Israeli Carrie Bradshaw”), who is looking for Mr. Lawful but keeps ending up with losers (although Mr. Fair is true under her nose!) Finally, Yousef Sweid, as the beautiful Palestinian who steals Noam’s heart. Sweid does a broad job as a young man torn between his first staunch worship and his culture, which views homosexuality with abhorrence and disdain. His sister’s reaction was so sunless for me to glimpse, showing that this young man had no one in his corner in the world in which he grew up.

Some will regain the ending very controversial but I found it honest dark and an melancholy reality of our world today. I hope you will remove time to behold this movie and I hope you appreciate it as distinguished as I did. I will certainly be adding this film to my dvd collection. Highly recommended.

There are a ton of bargin bin versions of this movie out there. Most of them are less than $10 dollars and what you earn is a transfer that looks like it was done from VHS to DVD. The sound is always unpleasant and crackles and if you try to peer it on anything larger than a 25 trot TV, it looks stretched and distorted.

This copy seems to have been rush through and remaster and noise reduction. The narrate is crisp and the sound is elegant. I watched this on my 50+ plug HDTV and it looks respectable.

Although I personally treasure this movie, I noticed that almost all of the reviewers of this version (supposedly “steady name” ones as well) seem to be the same person, probably an employee of Triad Productions. I noticed that by clicking the “search for all my reviews” hyperlink underneath the reviewers’ names gave me a list of the products they had reviewed, and nearly all of them were movies produced by Triad Productions, and all were reviewed extremely favorably. Therefore, I have concluded that this is the same phenomena seen in the Dilbert cartoon […] .
