Fit but flimsy3
These fit on the mini-muffin tins perfectly and once placed in the tins, they are flawless. Unfortunately, separating them is a challenge. They are very thin and stick together, when pulled from the packaging. Care must be taken, otherwise you will have many torn baking cups that are useless.

Excellent. Peels away easy5
These are great. They peel away easy, fit well in the pan and are neutral in appearance. I will buy them again.

Unbleached Mini baking cups4
Found the product easy to use and held up in baking. Will definitely order again.

Customer Reviews:

Very Good Canister Vaccum4
I have mostly hardwood floors and a little carpet and not a lot of space to store a bulky vacuum cleaner. It was difficult to find a model that would transition easily between wood and carpet. This model is excellent on the hardwood and tile floors, but it is not the greatest on the carpet. The suction is great and easily adjusted from the handle. It is easy to dump the dirt from the bagless collection area. It is a little small, so if fills up fast. The only other issue I have with this is that the cord is very short - so you have to keep replugging it in all over the house. Otherwise, a very lightweight, nicely designed vacuum. I am very pleased with it.

LOVE IT!!!5
I love this vacuum! I have only tile and hard wood floors so it is hard to find a lightweight vacuum that does a good job. I had the Blue dirt devil vision and loved that but my kids are rough on it when they use it so it was pretty beat up after 4 years so I bought this vacuum. This one is even better. Love the auto cord rewind. I love the tools. I also like the fact that I can vacuum small areas and get under beds easily. Dirt Devil makes the best canisters for non-carpeted floors by far and I have tried several and have returned several!!!!

WOW way better than expected !5
I just got this vacuum a few days ago. I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box, its much smaller and lighter than my heavy old eletrolux that had just died before I ordered this one, but it was here and I needed to vacuum the house, so I figured I may as well take it for a test drive. Assembly was a breeze just plug in the hose, snap on the wand and cleaning head. I did the carpet in my living room first, and was impressed with how much power it had. I stopped to read the instructions on how to empty it and tried that too. Very easy just press a button and lift it out, press another button and it opens to empty. I was shocked to see how much it had already picked up ! After that I went ahead and did the whole house. I really like that the variable power control is on the handle and not the canister, the tools and heads are easy to change, and the cord rewinds with the touch of a button. I’m glad I picked this one, its easier to use and picks up even better than my old vacuum. One minor drawback the container that traps the dirt is fairly small and will have to be emptied everytime its used, but its so quick and easy to do , I don’t think thats a big deal.

Not Bad, Not Great3
Let’s face it - when camping, there are two categories of gear: necessities and other stuff that may be helpful. This package from Coleman, consisting of (1) a small broom and dustpan, (2) four aluminum stakes, (3) a rubber-headed mallet and (4) a stake remover, definitely falls in the second category.

(1) Broom and dustpan — small, plastic and green, this just might get the most use out of anything in the package. Not much to say here — it does its job. Save the plastic wrapper this comes in, because its hard to get the broom back into the mesh bag without it.

(2) Four aluminum stakes — these are actually pretty good. The stakes are much longer and sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. They are essentially giant nails with a green plastic head attached for the line to tie onto. I would worry about cracking the heads if they got too cold.

(3) Rubber-headed mallet — much more substantial than you might think. good heft to this and it will do it’s job and any others that might call for a similar tool. A bit heavy, if anything.

(4) Stake remover — Cheap, bends out of shape.

All of this comes packed in a little mesh bag. The bag is not really big enough for all of this stuff, nor is it really sturdy enough to put up with any amount of abuse, and the stakes punch right through the bottom.

Bottom line — you can camp a thousand times without having this set and you would never miss it, but it’s always nice to have extra stakes and a way to clean your tent floor. For the price, it’s not a bad set to have.

Nice little kit4
Handy little kit to have for camping. The stakes are quite nice and really saved us when our cheap stakes couldn’t hold down the tent. The tent puller also is a time saver. My only complaint is that the bag is simply too small. I couldn’t get the brush/pan out without tearing up the small bag. Otherwise it is a handy addition. I’ll use the bag for more stakes that I’ll be buying.

Edit: June 23,2007. I’m starting to question the rubber hammer. We tented in a very rocky area and the rubber hammer worked, but a heavy duty steel hammer is really the best choice. I won’t tent again without a high quality hammer. Still, the stakes are excellent.

Handy to have!!5
This is really handy to have on hand when camping! The extra stakes are a nice plus, and actually nicer than the ones that came with our tent. And the mallet and clean-up items are great, because you don’t have to think of packing the items seperately, just grab the pack and go. Excellent time saver!

Good! Better than previous version.5
I purchased the Black and Decker Cordless 24 volt mulching mower (CMM1000) in 2005 and have been using it ever since. When I had the opportunity to upgrade to this mower (CM1836) I jumped on it.

I wanted a cordless electric mower to:

- Not have to deal with gas and oil
- Be able to mow without feeling like I need a shower due to exhaust fumes
- Save my hearing
- Keep me from re-injuring my right shoulder by not having to pull the cord to start
- Mulch

The CMM1000 did all of those fantastically for 4 1/2 years for me and the CM1836 improves on most features. I’m really happy to have the newer version. I know I have just barely used this mower and I promise to update this review if anything changes. For now, I can give you a good comparison of this mower with my previous cordless electric, keeping in mind that I’ve been quite happy with the previous version.

The CM 1836 Improves in all of these areas over the CMM1000 which I really liked quite well:

- This mower claims to be 50% more powerful 36 volts vs 24 volts
. - Good because old mower struggled with tall grass
- This mower is a tad quieter than the old one
- The handle is more ergonomic and easier to grip
- This mower as a whole is a bit smaller and lighter
- This mower stores more easily because it has a fold down handle
- The starting mechanism is easier and more elegant
- The safety key is better (safer from 2 year olds than the old one)

The CM 1836 actually is a bit worse than the CMM1000 in a couple areas:
- The height adjustment mechanism is harder to use than the old one.
. - Although it may be safer because there is no way to adjust while running now
. - Note that it is still a single lever that adjusts all wheels
- The cutting width is 1″ less on an already short cutting width (only 18″)
- The bag is a bit smaller on an already small bag (although I mulch)
- There is no longer a battery level indicator on the mower which was nice to have

I’m not sure is this is good or bad, but this mower has a smaller rear wheel as well. I haven’t noticed it as a problem yet.

I still have the following complaint with this mower, but I think it is slightly improved over the old one. The mowing deck is deceptive. It has a wide side area embedded within the deck that prevents the blade from going out as far as the edge of the deck. You have to have more overlap between strips of grass when mowing. (I think that the frame of the mower with the wheel height adjustment is hidden in the mowing deck.)

One word of caution is that my battery quit working just short of 2 years on the old mower. Luckily, it was still in warranty and Black and Decker replaced it free of charge. Unfortunately, the nearest authorized service shop to do it was 70 miles away and they were not very accommodating (9-5 Monday through Friday).

One thing to note is that when I set this up I found that the front right wheel was sort of caught up on the mowing deck and the adjustment lever wouldn’t work with that wheel. I determined that the axle for the wheel had not been inserted all the way across (it had a little stopping mechanism). I fixed it quickly by loosening the axle bracket and sliding the axle the rest of the way and then tightening the bracket back up. Hope the rest of it was assembled correctly by the factory.

BOTTOM LINE: I absolutely love having an electric mower. As long as you don’t let the grass get totally out of control, you shouldn’t ever have problems with it and you will LOVE that you don’t have to deal with fumes, noise, or running to get gas for it.

Great Chick Mower or anyone who wants something super easy to use!5
This is a wonderful machine! Assembly took less than 5 minutes from the box. It took only 2 bolts and 4 nuts to completely assemble. The mower is lightweight and rolls easily. You can easily adjust the cutting height with one lever instead of having to adjust each wheel one at a time. You only need to push a button and pull back the lever to start this mower.

I also like the fact that while cutting it releases zero emissions and runs quietly. It is also easy to re-charge the mower when finished. Another plus is the fact that I no longer need to transport gasoline inside vehicle. My car doesn’t have a trunk so I always had to put the gas can in the back seat floorboard, and smell gas in the car for the next few days. I think this is a great machine for a single mom or woman who isn’t good with machines–look, I’m a woman so I can say this! It also has a safety key so your kids can’t just go and start it up. It’s also green, so anyone who wants something super easy will like this. This is good for a small yard, or you will need to recharge. It is not self-propelled, but like I said before, it is easy to roll so unless you have a lot of hills, that should not be a problem.

It’s won me over from gas5
About 13 years ago I bought a battery powered lawn mower made by Black and Decker (I think it was their first). In many ways it was perfect: quiet, clean, easy to use. It only had one minor flaw that might discourage the user: it didn’t actually cut grass. It was more of a “grass brusher”, or perhaps a “grass massager” - bathing the grass in a gentle breeze without harming any wildlife, or grass.

I’m happy to say that 13 years later B&D seem to have worked the bugs out.

I’ve been able to use this mower three times now and I’m happier with it each time: it’s light, quiet, easy to use, and yes, it cuts grass. I’ve even used it to mulch up small branches after pruning with great results. While not nearly as powerful as my gas mower it actually does a better job of mulching, perhaps because it was clearly designed with mulching in mind. With my gas mower it always seemed like an afterthought. I did put the bag on it once: it switches from mulching to bagging easily enough (remove a small block and put the bag on back). The bag looked a little small but I’ll have to wait till summer brings me more grass to really try it out. That doesn’t bother me since I mostly use the bag for cleaning up around sidewalks or to suck up leaves in the fall.

Starting it is easy: there is a “plug” where you plug in the charger - unplug the charger and plug in a small dongle, push a button and pull on the safety bar and it starts right up. I’d suggest attaching the dongle to the mower so you don’t lose it. Height adjustment is also really easy: one hand, one wheel, and you’re done. I’ve had no issues with the charge running out. I don’t have a large yard so I don’t expect this to be an issue (my grass area is about 1500 sq ft). Just to see what would happen I didn’t charge it again after the first time I mowed and I got two more mows over three weeks out of it and I might even try for a fourth. That tells me it should handle a pretty good sized yard (though I should note the battery is not removable so if you have a really big yard you may want to step up to the 19inch model with the removable battery).

As mentioned in the description it folds up, something I love. I live far enough north that I don’t need a mower for a good part of the year. Being able to fold it up into a corner is really nice. I’ve definitely decided to ditch the gas mower in favor of this thing. The only person I could see who would not want this mower would be someone of limited strength since it is not self-propelled. It’s light enough that I have no trouble pushing it up hills, but if you have any physical limitations this is probably not the mower for you.

The only thing it doesn’t have that I would like is a batter level indicator. Beyond that this is a fantastic electric mower.

Great Quality at a Great Price…5
Ever heard of a no-brainer? My fiancé and I were pleasantly surprised when the mail arrived today. For a fraction of the $150-$200 that we easily could have spent, we received a beautiful cake knife and server for our wedding. Although I am sure the $200 set would have been stunning, I honestly can not believe that it would have been up to seven times better. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Cake Cutting Set5
Wonderful, just as pictured and at the lowest price I could find for a brand new set.

Affordable elegance5
I know most people are looking at this “Lenox Forevermore Silver-Plated 2-Piece Dessert Set” with a wedding in mind, but I actually got them for my wife as a Christmas present. She loves baking pies, and was wanted something pretty to serve her pies with. Our own wedding was very simple, without the big cake, so we didn’t wind up with the nice serving set that most couples have.

I was impressed with the quality of this set. For the bargain price, I was anticipating something of a little less quality, maybe a light hollow with a thin silver plating. Instead I got a nice heavy serving set, with a lush mirror finish that looks beautiful and cleans up easily.

I have seen some serving sets where the decoration gets in the way of the functionality, but fortunately that is not an issue here. Because I wasn’t buying this set for a “one time use” at a wedding then to be stored away forever, I wanted to make sure that they could actually cut and serve cakes and pies.

The long knife is serrated, and cuts easily. It is about the same length as a standard bread knife and could be used as such in a pinch. The cake server has a slightly beveled edge to help cut away anything remaining and to get under the cake and pie slices. Both tools perform their kitchen tasks admirably, and look nice doing it.

Customer Reviews:

A Good Invention5
I have a small gas-powered chain saw and also a gas-powered pole saw. The chain saw is heavy to hold up and I didn’t need to use the pole saw for most of my pruning. Based on the reviews, I decided to give this product a try. This tool works really great! It’s not super heavy and you don’t have to mess with gas since it’s electric powered. I’ve been using mine to trim oleanders with some branches 4″ thick with no problems. Even with ratchet loppers, it’s not always possible to cut the thicker branches and the Alligator Lopper solves this problem. You do have to put oil into a small covered hole but you have to oil and chain saw device. The jaws shield the cutters while closed so it’s pretty safe to use.

My new favorite saw5
I have two chainsaws (gas and electric) which are not going to get nearly as much use now that I have this Alligator Lopper. It is ideal for 99% of the cutting I need to do. Here are some of the reasons I prefer it over my other chainsaws:

1) Can cut directly on the ground. How many times have you dulled a chainsaw blade because the chain touched the ground? The chain guards on this allow you to cut trees right on the ground.

2) Familiar and comfortable cutting action. The scissor motion is easier than the knife motion of a traditional chainsaw. When trees are felled and on the ground, you can walk along the tree to buck the pieces to lengths rather than propping up the tree and then kneeling next to it for each cut.

3) Appears safer. The blade is almost entirely enclosed. When you put the saw down, you don’t need to worry about the blade hitting anything. The light weight (6 pounds) is also less tiring. I would give one to my mother (age 70) to use on her trees.

4) Very capable saw. The manual recommends no more than 4 inch diameter, but I’ve cut larger trees without problem.

Watch the video on the amazon site. It does a good job illustrating the benefits. A traditional chainsaw is still best for felling trees and cutting large trees, but this lopper is my new favorite companion to my traditional saw.

B&D Alligator Lopper - Great New Tool!5
Couldn’t wait for this one to arrive. Won’t use a regular chain saw for fear of losing digits, but this tool seems so much safer and was very easy to use. Very sturdy, but not too heavy for a non-lumberjack to operate. Cut hours of my yard work down to minutes, and I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase!

Amazon.com Product Description

The Alligator Lopper’s wide 4-inch jaw capacity easily chews through small trunks and logs.

Because the Alligator Lopper cuts side-to-side instead of up and down, the chain won’t bury itself in the ground when the cut is completed — saving wear and tear on the cutting surface.

The Alligator Lopper’s controlled, smooth cutting action makes clean-up from storms or simple pruning easy, safe, and fast.

Black & Decker’s Power Saws — Driven by Quality
Black & Decker offers both cordless and electric chain saws, including the Alligator Lopper electric chain saw and 18-volt cordless chain saws. Chain saws feature powerful motors for fast cutting and a sturdy, lightweight design that makes them exceptionally easy to use.

The Alligator Lopper Makes Cutting a Breeze
Take a big bite out of fallen trees, tree limbs and brush with the Alligator Lopper — a revolutionary cutting tool that provides chainsaw-like cutting performance in an un-intimidating tool. With its scissor-like action, the Alligator Lopper’s rugged metal jaws clamp onto logs, thick branches, tree limbs, and vines — and then saw right through them. Once limbs and branches are on the ground, the Alligator Lopper is perfect for chopping them up into manageable pieces to throw away or chuck into your fireplace.

This amazing saw boasts a rugged 4.5 amp motor for fast, powerful chomping through wood — plus a heavy-duty cutting bar and chain to really chew through dense branches and logs. This model also features auto chain tensioning to keep the tool in top cutting form. Just loosen the bar retainer bolts with the included wrench and the bar automatically takes out the slack and adjusts the chain’s tension perfectly.

The Alligator Lopper’s jaws offer the ultimate in controlled cutting. The rugged metal guards that cover the jaws protect you from the cutting chain, and they immediately snap back over the blades once the cut is complete. The Alligator Lopper’s jaws also mean that there’s no skipping around at the start of a cut. Unlike traditional chainsaws, the lopper cuts side-to-side instead of from top to bottom. This sideways cutting action prevents the cutting chain from burying itself in the dirt as the chain completes its cut.

The Alligator Lopper also makes it much faster and easier to cut logs, because you’ll never need to prop them up on saw horses or on other any other brace. Just grab the logs in the Alligator Lopper’s jaws and cut right through them.

Key Technical Specs:

  • Power: 4.5 amps
  • Bar length: 6 inches
  • Jaw capacity: 4 inches

Applications
The Alligator Lopper is ideal for tree pruning, clearing brush, storm clean-up, cutting firewood and more, and it’s a great alternative to chainsaws, manual loppers, handsaws and clippers.

The Alligator Lopper is ideal for tree pruning, clearing brush, storm clean-up, cutting firewood and more, and is a great alternative to chainsaws, manual loppers, handsaws and clippers. The Alligator Lopper’s jaws offer the ultimate in controlled cutting. The rugged metal guards that cover the jaws protect you from the cutting chain and immediately snap back over the blades once the cut is complete. The Alligator Lopper’s jaws also mean it does not skip around like chainsaws when starting to cut. The Alligator Lopper cuts side-to-side instead of from top to bottom as with traditional chainsaws. This sideways cutting prevents burying the cutting chain in the dirt as the chain cuts though, which can quickly dull a regular chainsaw. The Alligator Lopper also makes it much faster and easier to cut logs since you don’t have to prop them up on saw horses or other logs. Just grab them in the Alligator Lopper’s jaws and cut right through. The Alligator Lopper’s auto chain tensioning keeps it in top cutting form. Just loosen the bar retainer bolts with the included wrench and the bar automatically takes out the slack and adjusts the chain’s tension perfectly.

Customer Reviews:

Best Cuisinart coffee maker ever.5
This is a replacement for my old Cuisinart coffee maker which I had for about six years or so (the predecessor to this model). I loved my old one even with some of the little quirks it had. It beat out any Braun or Krupp pot which I had ever owned. This new updated model is a winner. All of the small annoyances have been solved, such as the small fill tank opening, the dripping cover that leaked back into the fill tank, and finally, thank you Cuisinart people, a water level guide on the outside of the unit. The front knobs on the front are now also easier to see and use. As my other Cuisinart did, it brews superior coffee and quickly. I find it takes about one minute per cup… 12 minutes for twelve cups, not bad at all. Yes, the unit does make some clicking and popping noises when it is new, so did my old one. But that goes away in time as the unit gets “broken in”. I do not think you can find a better coffee maker on the market.

My new BEST friend!5
Who in the world would have a coffee pot as a best friend? When you make and drink 5 to 7 pots of coffee a day you need a best friend. You need a friend who is there for you anytime you need one and that friend has to be consistent; i.e., one good pot after another. The DCC-2600 is my new best friend. In a short time it has performed better than its older cousin, the DCC-1200. The DCC-122 is still right up there with the DCC-2600; however, I wanted a 14 cupper and it is perfect.

The coffee tastes the same: great. It still takes about one minute per cup. That is perhaps a tad too much time but I don’t care. I can always do something else while it is brewing. After all, a super cup of coffee is worth waiting a few minutes. I can always set the timer and have it ready when I awaken. The setting process is still simple enough for me to do. I really like being able to see the plain water display on the outside instead of having to strain and look over the top of the pot. That’s a nice enhancement just as it the anti-drip change Cuisinart made.

I’m not an interior designer; however, I like the changes made to the outside appearances of this pot compared to the DCC-1200. I just looks better to me. The included gold filter is a nice touch and its inclusion should be a constant; however, I still prefer the cheap, paper filters. Paper filters are easier to clean up from than the gold filter. That is the only reason for my statement.

Best friends do not let you down and this pot pumps coffee without one retort. It works well and performs the job with vigor.

Love This Coffee Maker5
We take coffee very seriously in my house and when our old Cuisinart broke I wasn’t sure I wanted another. But they fixed the design problems (hard to pour the water without spilling, no visible water gauge) and it makes great coffee. Highly recommend it.

Great Performance for the Price4
Despairing of ever finding decent espresso in the Midwest, I finally broke down and decided to get a home espresso machine. I had worked as a barrista, and had sipped espresso in Italy, so I had some idea of how it should taste.

Being relatively poor, I wanted a machine that would deliver a decent espresso, at a decent price. Though I was willing to consider a system with proprietary coffee pods (K-cups, Tassimo, etc), it would have to be cheap enough that I wouldn’t mind shelling out the extra bucks for the coffee itself. And I also wanted to make sure that it was pump-driven, not steam-driven.

After checking reviews and looking around, I finally settled on the DeLonghi BAR32. It’s a pump-driven maker, not steam driven, so it’s not scorching the grounds as it brews. And it comes with a single and a double espresso filter.

The DeLonghi uses either ground espresso, or E.S.E. espresso pods. The E.S.E. pods are not proprietary - any company can make them. The DeLonghi comes with a package of 18 Illy pods (retail - $12). The pods are convenient, but still expensive.

I’ve had the espresso maker for several days, and I’m happy with it so far. With the pods, it pulls a good single espresso with a satisfactory crema. Sugar floats on top of the crema for about 2-3 seconds, and it has a nice golden color. The espresso tastes very smooth.

Pulling a good single espresso, either with the pods or loose coffee, is pretty easy. Use the pods as a good judge of how tightly to pack the grounds in the filter. Use a level, loosely packed scoop of coffee for a single shot.

Pulling a good double, on the other hand, still eludes me. The best I’ve come up with is to use 2 scoops, 3/4 full and loosely packed, and pressed looser than for a single. Even then, it still dribbles out slowly, with a less-than-satisfactory (though present) crema.

The steam wand works very well. I’ve made several excellent cappuccinos and lattes with it. It’s a little cramped to use, so I pull mine to the edge of the counter so that I can get a good mug under it. I steam straight into the mug of milk, and then add the espresso. Make sure to blow some steam through it to clear out condensation before putting it in your milk. Start with the steam wand nearly submerged in the milk, and then slowly pull it out (lower the mug) until you hear a gentle “sipping” sound. That means that it’s frothing. If you see noticeable bubbles on top of the milk, that means you’ve pulled it out too far - dip it back in slowly and you should be able to whip the bubbles into froth. Once the froth is just below the level you want it, submerge the wand back into the milk to finish heating it. Listen again - once the milk starts to sound “hollow,” it’s nearly hot enough. Let it go for a few more seconds, then shut off the steam, and remove the mug. The wand will drip a bit, so put it over the drip tray or an empty mug.

Making espresso is fairly easy. Turn the machine to “Heat” to start heating the water and priming the pump. Make sure the filter holder is screwed into the machine. Once the “Hot” light comes on, run an espresso cycle without coffee into the cup you’ll use - pulling espresso into a cold cup will ruin the flavor. Fill the cup half-way with hot water, and turn the machine back to “Heat.” Empty and quickly dry the espresso cup. Put the E.S.E. pod or ground espresso into the filter (tamp down the loose espresso) and twist it into the machine. Turn the machine on, and wait until you’ve got your cup of espresso. A single espresso should be 30-40ml, or 1-1.5oz. I used a measuring cup to see what that looked like in my demitasse cups.

Looking back over what I’ve written, I suppose I do make it look a little complicated. And it is a little bit more complicated that popping the K-cup into the machine, and hitting “Go.” But it really is pretty easy, and less than 5 minutes pass between “You know, I could go for a cappuccino,” and “Man, that’s a tasty cappuccino.”

Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Good pressure
- Easy to make a good single shot of espresso
- Uses pods or loose grounds
- 2 dials + 0 buttons = easy to use
- Outstanding steam wand
- 32oz water reservoir lets you make 3 or 4 cappuccinos, or 6 to 8 espressos, without refilling
- Built-in tamper means one less part to lose
- Pre-heat cycle helps make good espresso

Cons:
- Hard to make a good double espresso (might just be me)
- Steam wand leaks slightly (usually at the start of a brewing cycle - I just keep mine over the drip tray)

In the end, the machine makes a good espresso, especially for the price, but remember that you’re not going to be running a coffee shop with it. I definitely recommend it for anybody who wants to make their own espresso, but wants to do it for under $200.

It works great after over a year4
I have purchased this machine from Amazon on June 2006, that’s 16 months ago and I have been using this coffee maker every day, usually 2 to 3 times a day. A few words about me, I grew up in Italy, lived there for over 20 years and I still go visit my country for at least a month every year so I should know about coffee, right? DeLonghi is considered a good brand in Italy, I’m not sure about customer service in the U.S. since I never had to contact them; my aunt in Italy has an identical machine with no complaints. I’m not sure about the complaints I read here. Some people say it takes too long to heat up the water… I usually turn it on 15 minutes before making the espresso and the water gets really hot, if you think that’s too long then you’ve never used an espresso machine before, it’s very average as a matter of fact. Sorry, but that’s not the machine’s fault, it’s the way it is with all machines. Coffee shops machines need one hour sometimes longer to heat up. Others have complained about the steamer leaking a bit… NO KIDDING! It’s called vapor condensation, if you think that’s a machine issue I recommend going back to school and taking Physics 101. Not usually a big deal for me, just keep the steamer over the tray and the problem is solved… it’s only a drop or two anyway.
Some have written about the coffee not being very strong, true it could be stronger but if you make the right dose it’s ok. I get my coffee in Italy and, you want to trust me on this, if you’re not using good ground coffee to start with you’re not going to get a good espresso. Forget that Starbucks junk, this machine makes a much better espresso if you use it right with the right coffee.
I’m not saying it’s perfect, but for this price it gets really good, hard to find better. Forgive me for my somewhat sarcastic remarks, but I have the feeling that most of the people who complained about this machine have issues related to “Operator’s Error” and not the machine itself.
One note though about the frother (I’ve seen better construction), remove the plastic part and it works much better.
I used both Illy pods and ground coffee and I like both. Illy is considered a high quality coffee.
For the past 16 months it has worked great for me and I’m sure it will again tomorrow morning. Remember not to let the water reservoir go dry or you will burn the pump, again “Operator’s Error” not machine’s.
To the guy who grinds his own beans not espresso fine… Operator’s Error! Espresso machines need espresso ground coffee not larger grains. I still have to find a grinder in the US that can make fine espresso ground without costing an arm and a leg. One more thing: make sure you use bottled water (I use spring water) because tap water contains more limestone and can ruin the pump in the long run.
By the way, all the customers images are mine (as of today October 8th 2007), glad to see so many people enjoyed them.

Update: October 24th

Over 2 years, and still working great! :) I used it about twice a day.

Great little machine5
I’ve been a coffee snob for several years have several brewing machines scattered throughout my kitchen. Since I got this machine xmas morning, all the others brewing systems have become obsolete.

It produces plenty of steam in a jiff, and the removable water tank is very handy (especially for use with my water filter). While I scoffed at the thought of using the ESE pre-packed espresso pods, it came with a tin of them, so I tried them out since all local coffee houses were closed (and I had no beans!). The ESEs make a pass-able cup of espresso–not the darkest roast, but the convenience of a pod is handy. I have some Major Dikason’s blend from Peets which I made regular espresso and Americanos out of. Delicious, thick, creamy.

This machine is a steal at this price. I’ve had to get the hang of packing my grounds in the handle, however. If I pack too tightly, the cream only comes out as a trickle. I suppose that’s the case with most home machines, however. Also, it has a built in tamper on the frame of the machine, and I consider that to be a bit of a mess and kind of sketchy. Go buy a tamper sperately.

This is a great little machine. For any price under $200 it’s a steal.

Customer Reviews:

An excellent value in an electric blow and vac5
I bought this Toro electric blow and vac in utter frustration after spending a small fortune on similar gasoline powered products. I use it as a vac several times per week and even daily in the Fall. I found that the very cheap gasoline blow and vacs start falling apart very quickly indeed as the result of poor and shoddy design so I moved up to the top of the line, Echo, which appears to be very well made and engineered. My first one, an ES211, did outlast its 2 year warranty, it had a starter assembly and cord replaced under warranty but then just wore out during the third year. The second ES211 lasted 18 months until something broke inside the engine and it wouldn’t even rotate. The third one (a $290+tax ES231 heavy duty model) is just over a year old and overheats very quickly, smokes badly, and is melting the plastic grill surrounding the engine.
The dealers lie and tell me that it’s my fault and that the problem is lack of lubrication. As a lifelong, now retired, professional mechanical engineer and having owned 2-stroke engines since a teenager I have always used the correct gas/oil mixture in 2-stroke engines including motorcycles of course.
The Toro Ultra Blower and Vac does everything I need. Let’s list the advantages. It is amazingly light and doesn’t strain your back lugging its bulk plus a heavy bag of leaves around the way a gas powered model does - this is very important and not to be dismissed as you get up in years. It always starts when you turn the knob - you sure can’t say that about gasoline powered garden equipment. It converts from a blower to a vac very quickly without needing a screwdriver and undue force - Toro obviously corrected this problem from the prior model. It is very quiet compared with gas models - your neighbors will appreciate this. It doesn’t have a spark plug or an air filter that needs frequent attention. It doesn’t get dirty, grimy, and oily from gasoline exhaust and leaky carburetors and tubing. You don’t have to buy expensive gasoline and oil and be required to mix and find a place to store a separate highly inflammable gas/oil mixture. The Toro has a cast magnesium impeller that handles the occasional twig or stone quite handily. The leaf bag is well designed, it disconnects easily and is a snap to empty. The vac suction and air blast from the blower seems equivalent to the Echo. Last but not least is P R I C E , my Toro was $69.99, at that price I could buy four of them for the price of one Echo ES231.
Now for the only disadvantage I can think of. I use a 100 ft. 13amp. electric cord and reel. You sacrifice some ease of mobility because you have a cord dragging behind you all of the time - nothing in life is perfect I guess.

Excellent!-Better than I expected!5
I was originally planning to buy a GAS powered leaf blower.
However, the glowing reviews that I read on this leaf blower (here and on other sites) made me reconsider-I’m glad I did!
This unit is very light, well balanced, extremely powerful and QUIET!
NOTE: This model has the METAL blower blades as opposed to plastic in many of the lower model # Toro leaf blowers (some people have reported breakage of the blades on those models due to small rocks and twigs cracking or breaking the blades). Spend the extra few dollars to get this model that has the METAL blades.
Yes, you will need to deal with the hassle of an extension cord when using this tool, however I feel that it is LESS of a hassle in the long run (no fuel, no maintenance, no excessive noise or fumes, less expensive, leaf vacuum capability). Much less of an inconvenience than I expected.
This Leaf blower is so powerful that all of my walkways, patios, and driveway are free of lawn clippings and leaves in less than 5 minutes time and I rarely need to go above half throttle.

Oh yeah, the photo on this page is WRONG. You will actually get the RED colored unit (2nd revision maybe?) and it does indeed come with the leaf bag and vacuum tubing.
IMHO this is a very well designed and engineered product - I was skeptical before I bought it, but I am very glad that I did.

The best (period)5
This blower/vac is the best lawn tool I have ever purchased. To think I used to rake my leaves! I live in an established neighborhood with huge maples and oaks that produce large amounts of tree-litter and a small to moderately sized yard (~6000 sq/ft total(?)). Dragging a cord around is not that much of a hassle for me, and it is well worth the power to weight and noise ratio this blower has (not to mention its lack of required maintenence). In fact, it is more powerful and quieter than most gas-powered blowers, most of which do not vac. (Plus, your neighbors may appreciate is lack of air and relative noise pollution).

The metal impeller in this model was the selling point for me and I was not disappointed. It sucks up twigs and bits of mulch without worry. In fact, the continuously adjustable suction allows you to suck up leaves over mulched areas. Pinecones and hidden rocks also will not terribly damage the metal impeller.

CONS: Leaf duty is still a pain, but I have not discovered a more useful tool to help you with it under $100. There are cheaper blowers out there, but I would be weary of purchasing one for anything but the most lightweight tasks (blowing grass off a sidewalk). It has a cord, but in every other way it is superior to gas blowers for about the same price or lower.

The Toro Ultra 3-in-1 Blower, Vacuum, and Leaf Shredder:
  • Is electric so it is lighter, quieter, and cleaner than similar gas blower.
  • Has a variable speed motor.
  • Features a metal impeller for mulching debris.

Convert from blower to vacuum without tools.

The metal impeller shreds leaves into a mulch.

The impeller can reduce up to 16 bags’ worth of waste to one bag.

Match the Power to the Task for Better Results
Tackle big clean-up jobs the right way with this powerful blower vac. A variable speed 12 Amp motor lets you select from an infinite variety of speeds between 112 mph and 235 mph. This means that you can use low speeds to clear off hard surfaces and clean up tight areas without making a mess and without sacrificing the blower’s high-speed functionality.

Air Speed and Air Volume to Get Yard Jobs Done
Unlike some manufacturers, who simply reduce the size of their blower nozzles to achieve higher air speed ratings without increasing the practical value of their tools, Toro gives this blower vac the ability to balance between air speed (measured in mph) and air volume (measured in cfm) to ensure maximum power and performance. This Ultra blower vac offers air speeds up to 235 mph and air volume up to 255 cfm, allowing you to move a substantial volume of leaves and debris with ease.

3-in-1 Versatility Makes Managing Tasks Easy
A convenient quick-release latch lets you convert your blower into a vacuum in seconds without any tools, while a metal impeller makes it easy to mulch debris.

The magnesium serrated metal blades on the impeller shred leaves and other unwanted debris into a fine mulch that you can use around your lawn and garden, saving money and recycling important nutrients. It also makes it easy to dispose of unwanted yard waste, since the impeller can reduce 16 bags’ worth of leaves to one bag.

Clean and Efficient with Electric Power
Compared with gas blowers, electric blowers are quieter, more eco-friendly, and require less maintenance. They start up instantly without requiring you to master a finicky pull cord. There’s no messy gas-oil mixture to worry about, and you don’t have to contend with noxious fumes to get a job done.

This high-powered blower also weighs in at a very manageable 7.5 pounds, making it easy on your back.

This blower/vac is backed by a full two-year warranty.

What’s in the Box
Power unit, blower tubes, vac tubes, vac bag, and operators manual.

Even a large yard is easy to clean up with this blower.
