It can be argued that this collection of 9 enthralling shorts based on the world of The Matrix was as anticipated as Reloaded. I, for one, was incredibly intrigued unbiased by the view. I asked myself “could any movie actually pull this off? ” The Animatrix answers my demand. The world that The Wachowski Brothers have created truly is the Star Wars of this generation. 5) Program-This short deals with the training process people who have been freed must go through. It has absoutely breathtaking animation, and is the most “anime” of the 9.

6) World Record-This yarn shows the possibilities of being “plugged-in.” Assume that the only diagram someone can be freed is by taking the red pill? Examine this. The most engrossing and inventive yarn as far as I’m concerned, coupled with a original style of animation.

7) Beyond-This short deals with how the machines handled glitches in the system. It has beautiful animation, with shiny colors and a thoroughly Japanese notice.

A Detective Story-Remember Trinity’s legendary hacker area, alluded to in the first movie? This is the whole fable. This one has a very original style that I believe fit the feel of the tale well, and it’s nice to examine Trinity when she was mild the baddest hacker on the block.

9) Matriculated-Can the machines be convinced to join the human side? After all, if humans were batteries and if machines have A.I., doesn’t that design both man and machine connected in some blueprint? This last short, with the best-looking animation out of the 9, answers those questions. Unprejudiced as The Second Renaissance will gain you feel for man, this one will invent you feel for the other side.

Overall, I’d say The Animatrix succeeded what it dwelling out to do. This was never meant to be enjoyed on the same level as the movies, it was meant to give everyone a further notion of what The Matrix is and provide a more detailed backstory to complement the movies. It is tremendous to stare how the animators do sometimes recreate such effects as bullet-time. It comes very very conclude to being as magnificent and visually delicate as the movies themselves. The stories are mostly spellbinding, though a couple are as terrifying and troubling as possible. If you are not the kind of person that enjoys bodies being mutilated and people being killed cruelly by robots, this might not be for you. Also, if you don’t like the Matrix films, this is not for you. In fact, why are you even reading this?

The animation is gargantuan, the sound is splendid, and overall the dvd is worthwhile. If you luxuriate in really wild animation and special effects, you will certainly like this.

HOWEVER - impartial because this is interesting does NOT mean that this is child appropriate. It is not. It is completely contaminated (IMO) for children under the age of 12. It is very violent and contains images that are FAR too incomprehensible for young children, not to mention R rated language. Elegant for adults and teenagers conventional enough to know the disagreement between reality and movies, simply not appropriate for children.

Whatever the case, Horn is now a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant for the United States Army, someone trained to infiltrate terrorist organizations and collect information. It seems his loyalties have shifted; while in Yemen, he’s caught selling detonators to a group of jihadists, and after a brief shootout, everyone is arrested. In prison, he befriends Omar (Saïd Taghmaoui), who is apparently in league with people on the outside, people willing to risk incarceration or death to free their brother Muslims. A frenetic jailbreak ensues. Not long after, Horn becomes entangled in a terrorist conspiracy, one that would result in several major attacks on American soil.

Two FBI agents have been assigned to locate and arrest Horn. One is Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce), who, interestingly enough, once considered World Religions as a college major. He claims to steal his believe Christian faith seriously, but unlike Horn with the Koran, we never explore him reading from the Bible or quoting any of its passages. We’re never told what Max Archer (Neal McDonough) believes, although it’s positive that, as far as his job is concerned, he’s all about getting results as mercurial as possible; in an early scene, he gets impatient with Horn and subsequently punches him in the stomach. Clayton is distinguished more peaceful and serene, and he understands that you derive information from a suspect by pushing his buttons, not by letting him push yours. Indeed, Horn is a tough nut to crack, probably because he knows how to retain secrets from both sides.

His fate crosses with two FBI agents, played by Guy Pearce and Neal McDonough. Soon the two are crisscrossing the globe hunting Samir, who is becoming more and more fervent with a cell led by a terrorist mastermind.

The film is written and directed as a tall thriller with enough action and suspense to support you ocuupied and guessing, but not to the extent that it comes off like a routine action movie trying to be more than it is. The film has several twists and surprises and keeps the viewer engaged throughout.

But everything is held together is by Cheadle, who burnishes his reputation as one of Hollywood’s greatest talents. His Samir is at once devious, treacherous, loving, compassionate, stubborn, and unsafe. Traitor is a mountainous film, but it would not occupy the same impact with a lesser talent as its star.

The subtitle to the play “Peter Pan” is “The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up”. Spielberg’s sequel could well be called “The Man Who Grew Up Too Powerful”. The legend of Peter Pan is reversed, as are many roles. Robin Williams has the easy task of playing the thoughtless parent, the moderate task of playing the grownup Peter Pan, and the incredibly difficult task of making the transition between the two believable.

Dustin’s Hoffman’s Capt. Hook knows, as do all of us who remember his soliloquy, that no shrimp children admire him. His trouble with how he will be remembered, and with Top-notch Manufacture, ring quite fair to the current. The character is suave, urbane, vicious, moving, and ultimately tragic.

At first I was annoyed at the fresh elements in Never-Never-Land, but I soon realized that they had to be there, as Never-Never-Land was always a compilation of everything Lost Boys found inspiring. In the twenties, that included Red Indians, but if they were lost in the 1980s, well then, baseball and skateboards should be included. The unusual play was Edwardian, but the movie makes no sense unless it’s updated.

The role-reversal and eventual re-reversal is enthralling. In the play, the same actor always plays both Hook and the thoughtless and cruel father, Mr. Darling. But here, Peter is the uncaring father and a corporate pirate, while Hook takes the children to Never-Never-Land. The lost boys are, at first, quarrelsome and threatening, while the pirates are a blissful adventuresome lot, even sentimental in the lullaby sequence. But while the Lost Boys befriend Peter recover himself (and to recover their have innocence), Hook’s attempt to find over Peter’s kids is, in the slay, a failure, and we are brought paunchy circle. The final scene of the helpless Hook surrounded by Peter and his boys parallels the earlier scene of the helpless Peter Banning surrounded by Hook and his pirates. (”Somebody lend me a hand.” “I already have.”)

The movie has one major flaw - most people don’t know the Peter Pan tale well enough to really understand it. Seeing the play “Peter Pan” won’t relieve noteworthy, either, because there’s a lot in the storybook “Peter and Wendy”, and in the play’s stage directions, that enhances the opinion of the movie Hook. In a scene usually crop from the play, Peter sacrifices himself for Wendy, and thinks he is about to drown. His line is “To die will be an awfully stout adventure.” Later, when Wendy and the Lost Boys are leaving Never-Land, Peter is left alone, slumped in his chair. The stage directions status that at this point, if Peter only understood a puny more, he would say, “To live would be an awfully vast adventure.” Hook is the epic of how Peter finally learns that to live is, indeed, an awfully great adventure. Along the method, he must also survey what a Blissful Understanding for a grown-up is, and that a man with no childhood is as incomplete as a boy who would not grow up.

The pretend-food that was always Peter’s common kind of meal is obsolete to advantageous attain. I found the first moment when Peter’s adult façade started to shatter down surprisingly believable. We are also re-introduced to Tootles, who was the Lost Boy who always missed the adventure, and so he does again. Several times in the movie, the first time I saw it, I mouthed the dialogue along with the actors, because I knew that after Hook said, “Prepare to die”, Peter had to acknowledge, “Dim and infamous man, have at thee.” There’s a brief appearance of Michael’s contain and John’s top hat, which they took with them to Never-Never-Land so many years ago. Lisa and Nana return (Nana IX, really), and many other details perform it a fantastic reunion. Bob Hoskins’s Smee and Julia Roberts’s Tinkerbell are proper to the modern, and yes, she says The Line She Had to Say.

Yes, Peter Pan grew up. But he didn’t do it when he became a lawyer; he did it in Hook.

Peter Banning was a gloomy, “fleshy worn grandpa man” but when he remembers who he is, he’s filled with boundless joy and energy. A very spiritual message indeed.

This movie was a Gargantuan disappointment. My daughter and I are spacious Winnie the Pooh fans, and we had been looking forward to the release of Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween ever since we saw the first Heffalump movie. Unlike that movie, which was charming and endearing, this one is ponderous, dumb, and contrived. The previews prove only the beneficial scenes and leave out the sleep-inducing flashback to a previous Halloween where Piglet was haunted half to death. And the movie ends with a yawn; the theme of unconditional friendship never really came out like it did in the unique Heffalump movie. And where was Owl? He has been MIA ever since Piglet’s Spacious Movie in 2003. I give this movie two stars only because my daughter and I fancy the characters so considerable.

This movie was not quite what we expected. Since we bought the Heffalump movie, we have watched it over and over. Grandparents and my 3.5 yr stale alike. Everyone loves it!..So, as you can imagine, we were anticipating the Halloween Heffalump movie. My son was counting the days so to bid. It was hard to fetch…even my local Disney store did not salvage in in upon release…But finally I found it…but when we watched it, we were disappointed. This movie basically recycled “Boo to you too” the first pooh halloween movie. Most of the cute scenes keen Roo and Lumpy were shown in the trailers. The movie was even a bit scary for my 3.5 yr old-fashioned limited boy. He actually came and sat in my lap and hid his head as he was timorous. The “Gablooon” was dinky bit distinguished for a toddler if you ask me. Too distinguished of Piglet’s anecdote and not nearly enough Lumpy and Roo…. A few days later, I went out and bought Max and Ruby’s Halloween…he LOVES it and would glimpse it over and over! Cute not scary and you acquire 10+ bonus episodes, a grand greater value!

I’m posthaste realizing that there are some unbelievably trustworthy foreign films out there (I possess about a half-dozen now) . My wife and I watched Murky Blue World on DVD this weekend. It is one of the best story war movies that I’ve ever seen and a very attractive DVD release. The cinematography was extraordinary and the Dolby Digital mix was pleasing. I felt as if there really were Spitfires and BF-109s flying through my living room!

In case you haven’t heard of it, Sad Blue World is about Czech fighter pilots who fought for the RAF during World War II. In addition to an incredible history lesson, it was one of the best war screenplays I’ve ever seen and was wonderfully acted and directed. This is the first movie in a long, long time that I really felt connected to the characters. It makes me want to gape more from this director and these actors. Jan Sverák should have been nominated for Best Director. Ondrej Vetchý (as Frantisek Sláma), Krystof Hádek (as Karel Vojtisek), and Tara Fitzgerald (as Susan) were all outstanding. It is rare that you eye a movie so well balanced with stellar performances. Even the dog was perfectly cast (you’ll know what I mean when the tears are rolling down your face as the main character has to leave her tedious)!

Most of the movie is in Czech with English subtitles, which is refreshing. Hearing everything in the suitable language distinct does execute the experience so distinguished more fulfilling. It has the best aerial combat scenes in any film, ever. You’d deem that you were seeing very high-quality historical film of the dependable thing. Even though I honest saw it a couple of days ago, I’m gonna scrutinize it again really soon. You won’t be disappointed!!! I contemplate that this film is the sleeper hit of 2001. It has my unqualified recommendation.

This is a must-see film for everyone. Jan Sverak (Academy Award winner for “Kolya”) again shows his skills and excellence - no wonder he is called “smaller budget Spielberg”. But don’t be improper, this is byfar the most expensive movie project done in this country EVER.

Dark Blue World is a movie about Czechoslovak fighter pilots in World War 2, who escaped to Britain to continue their fight against Hitler, after German army has occupied their country. It is a memoir of war, friendship, care for, and the cruelty of fortune, wonderfully entwined to design a extraordinary film. The film is a gigantic drama, yet contains a lot of Sverak’s humanity and humor at the same time…

Among other things Shadowy Blue World is arguably the best World War 2 aviation movie I’ve seen - the aircraft are graceful, historical background well-researched, and most of all air combat scenes are thrilling but very realistic (fresh computer graphics possibilities finally allow these things to be done, and this movie avoided all of the “funny book” effects that todays’ directors often gain dragged into - gawk Pearl Harobr) . What is really obliging though is that you can engage your girlfriend or wife with you, and she will relish herself as well!

And finally DVD features many first-rate extras, including an satisfactory “The Filming Of” documentary, storyboards, edited scenes, documentary about special effects, and others - lots of goodies.

Be it whether you liked Pearl Harbor or were disappointed by it, this is a film you should explore.

this movie focuses on the events in the aftermath of Saw III and Jigsaw’s past. We eye more of what drove him to the point he was at, and we derive to leer his first game.

the main storyline is about Detective Riggs trying to win Detective Matthews from Saw II. its now been 6 months since his disappearance. i dont want to give anymore info away, b/c realization is half the fun with this series. ill objective say it goes serve and forth between Riggs station and looks into Jigsaw’s past.

The overall narrative is by far the most tantalizing in my understanding, even if only for the better examine into John’s past. not that the rest of the movie falls short, this is possibly the most arresting in the series. the traps are very clever, and in a case or two the pons really seem to deserve their fates.

i dont know how they’ll retain the series going after this entry. Tobin Bell(Jigsaw) is the face of this series and a future fear icon. friendly movie.

SAW IV was a expansive addition to an already incredible series. it fits in nicely with the rest of the series and adds a whole fresh myth line… this current yarn line (which i wont say) is revealed at the destroy and was very unexpected. i was afraid that they were able to advance up with such a stout twist.. the spot may be confusing to some but factual saw fans will understand. this is deff a movie that you need to stare more then once recall in all the info given

the set of saw 4 has Rigg(saw 2 & 3) as the main character. Rigg wakes up to a tape and instructions from jigsaw. Rigg is forced to score over his obcession with trying to build everyone. he must learn to let people invent their enjoy decisions and establish themselves.

the traps are very captivating and horrible. Jigsaw’s life is also explained more in this film. we learn his past and why he became what he did.. we also recognize his first trap.

everyone should glimpse this movie and add it to their saw movie collection

There is a logic flaw somewhere with Hollywood quite often when it comes to laughable characters or legends that eludes me………

They prefer a dim character and turn it into a goofy spoof of itself with some generic “Hollywood formula” that usually damages the film with fans and loses the general audience because it changes the character that was apparently successful enough in the first space to be beneficial of a movie.

Consider for a moment with amusing heroes……..

You have the droll fanbase who know the character and will be dissapointed if you tamper with it.

Then you have the general public who knows cramped about the character and thus have no preconceived expectations.

SO….

If you execute the character faithful to the humorous, the fans will praise it and the general public who have no other expectation will fancy it also.

Instead when Hollywood turns a character like Ghost Rider into a campy pale shadow of itself, the fans are turned off and the general public are left wondering… “Why is this character so favorite”?

The destroy result?

Bad box office returns and the fast demolish of a franchise before it can gather started.

Ghost Rider STARTED accurate on track, but once Cage entered and started his one-liner “Comedy Central” cracks and quirky sarcasm, the movie eroded rapidly.

Then try and forget the inconsistencies in sage logic or even why an rotten spawn with the power of Satan himself is affected by shotgun bullets, etc…

The writers seemed to confuse Ghost Rider with the Hulk also……….. Ghost Rider (unique comical series) was tell and spoke like a demon with long sermon like preachings when inflicting his wrath…………. this movie version of Ghost Rider grunts and utters Hulk-like sentences like…….. “Ahhhhh You Guilty”

The effects department deserves ample accolades for a aesthetic job.

They did their portion to construct a 5 star film.

But that is a spot we peek alot these days……………. films focus on the effects but ignore the stories and character development.

Is the General Public getting that dumbed down today -or- am I unprejudiced getting to old-fashioned?

People are razzle-dazzled by the behold candy and fair ignore stories?

Bottom Line: Other than Eva Mendes’ cleavage, this movie was dazzling lifeless. The dialog was campy and the state was peer through. Seemed like a spot up for a sequel; Impress to Studio: Don’t bother. If the director was going for a cheesy kind of amusing book thing, he hit it just on. The dilemma is that this is a immense cloak movie - go read the amusing book if you are looking for cheese.

I really wanted to cherish this movie. The understanding and cast give it the potential to be a hilarious romantic comedy, but sadly, it isn’t.

I cherish Matthew McConaughey in aesthetic grand everything he’s ever been in. He’s a beneficial actor, but I really didn’t catch him as a charmer in this movie. I really couldn’t look why the women were falling for him. He wasn’t even slightly charming or likable. He was objective a jerk. It made me feel like the writers of this movie understanding all women were unprejudiced idiots ready to tumble into bed with anyone.

Jennifer Garner is another of my faves in other movies. She wasn’t terrible in this one, but it wasn’t enough to keep the movie.

One thing I did like about this movie was Lacey Chabert. She was very believable as the nervous bride to be. She was freaking out about every detail as many brides do and was a rupture. She gave us some comedic moments and was cute as a button.

I’m pleased I only rented this movie from Netflix, so I’m only out an hour adn 40 minutes of my life rather than $20. If you really feel the need to examine this movie, rent it before buying it.

Just saw this one in the theater and it was a expansive flick with a lot of laughs. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

In a take-off of the Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol, the ghosts of past girlfriends and other voluntary spirits, attempt to succor a cold-hearted womanizer bring support the sensitivity and adore in his life.

And so it begins. As I said, it is often laugh-out-loud comical, coupled with sincerety and worship. There were times I found a coast or two in my eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and would certainly want to look it again. It’s a feel-good movie and scrumptious to peek the sincerity and treasure return to this man’s life.

Do not catch this supposedly novel, anamorphic version. It is not, and the quality is abominable. I deem they slipped the obsolete cruddy DVD version in this “original” case. The area free Bluray looks like it is probably of honorable quality.

This is the same non-anamorphic disc as before, but repackaged. Which makes Lionsgate liars, because the attend of the insert claims it is “16×9″. Thanks for taking my money, scumbags.
