For once, the word “MIRACLE” is appropriate!
I must admit that in the past I haven’t had the best luck with products containing “miracle” in their name. However, this blanket is the shining exception!

Our son was a very big boy — 10 lb, 6 oz of joy. We had read Harvey Karp’s “The Happiest Baby on the Block” (highly recommended) and we knew we wanted to swaddle him. We had planned to use a receiving blanket, but we quickly found out that none of them were remotely big enough. Not even close. We spent a ton of money buying bigger blankets, and we tried two other expensive swaddling blankets as well. Nothing worked, nothing held the baby, and all three of us were desperate to get some sleep. We even bought a cheap sheet set and tore it up to get some bigger patches of cloth. No dice.

Finally, I ordered this blanket online (Amazon didn’t carry it at the time, alas.) BINGO — our son slept through the night at once! Yes! We had to wake him from a sound, swaddled sleep to change and feed him; he went back down like a rock as soon as we re-swaddled him. He loved this blanket. When he saw us coming with it, he’d try to lie quietly with his arms in his sides in anticipation of the (very simple) process of swaddling him up. And I loved the fact that this blanket was so soft and comforting and had no snaps or any other fasteners that could rub him.

I should mention that the two new parents I gave this to as a shower gift were pathetically grateful, and couldn’t stop gushing. I understand; for a new parent, anything that grants you sleep is your favorite thing in the world.

A note to parents considering this blanket: Be prepared for some of your friends (especially the childless ones) to recoil in horror at the thought of swaddling. “You’re tying your baby up?” “What if he suffocates?” “But he won’t be able to move! It’s cruel!”, etc., etc. These people probably mean well, but their comments are very ignorant. The fact is, your baby has just spent months in the most confined space imaginable — a womb where he could barely budge at all. And new parents will immediately notice that newborn babies have virtually no control over their newly freed arms — they’ll startle themselves from sleep time and again, then start flailing their hands around and scratching their faces raw. Newborns don’t have the neurological control to stop themselves from flailing, so they love it when you return them to the safe, warm, familiar confinement they remember from the womb.

Another comment you’ll hear from some people is, “How do you know when the baby doesn’t need to be swaddled any more?” Easy. They start to wriggle out of the swaddling. They may not be able to talk, but they’ll let you know clearly when they’re ready to move on.

The only swaddle blanket my son can’t escape

The Miracle Wrap is such a simple idea but it works wonders. I originally received a Swaddle Me wrap by Kiddopotamus as a gift and my son who was only 6 weeks old at the time would break out of it repeatedly so a friend recommended the Miracle Wrap. So far he has not been able to break out of this one and due to the ingenious design I know he never will. Be prepared for the fact that it looks a bit like a straightjacket. It has been the topic of many jokes in my family. But it works!

Truly a miracle.
This product is on our list of “must-haves”. I’ve tried a million different methods of swaddling with a regular blanket but after an hour (at most!) our son wriggled his way out of it. And once their arms are out, they wake themselves up constantly.

Swaddled in this blanket he’s never gotten his arms out, even though it’s not wrapped overly tightly. And since their legs can be wrapped in our not, it helps with babies that get too hot or too cold.

The “miracle” of this blanket is two extra pieces of material inside that go over their arms and then under their backs. Having seen this I tried doing it with a regular blanket with some success, but it’s just never quite right.

So cry once and spend the $$. Yes, it’s a little expensive for such a small amount of fabric but inovation isn’t always cheap — and in this case, it’s worth it.

not the right size!
It is impossible to know whether these glass carafes are the correct size for replacements without knowing the number of ounces they hold. The cups are an arbitrary volume that is specific to some standard that I am not familiar with, and therefore I had to guess at which “cup” size would be the same as my known 20 oz. press pot. 8 cups as it turns out is a 32 oz size, but I never see “6-cup” pots advertised so I had to return these. Making a random guess on-line sucks, has taken more time and cost me money and I still do not have what I needed. But it is really tough to find 20 oz carafes so I took my chance…oh well.

Can be Difficult to Order the Correct Size
The descriptions of these replacement beakers is inconsistent and make ordering a challenge. Some confuse U.S. and European cups while others list “ounces.” Total capacity in ounces should be listed as well as dimensions in inches. If a customer has broken his or her beaker that information may not be available so the Bodum product numbers should also be provided. All this information is available on the Bodum website but is hard to transpose elsewhere. As it is, if a mistake is made the customer must pay the postage for the return as well as for any followup order. In the meantime your otherwise excellent press is “beakerless” and unusable.

according to the Bodum website ([…]) they seem to size their french presses with two different “cup” sizes -
a “US cup” is 8oz, and a “european cup” is 4oz, so you can at least use the Bodum website to find the model number for the correct size for your press, then just search for that model number on Amazon and you’re all set.

yes, it would be nice if the listings were in better shape to start with, but hopefully the info above will help someone out.

They really work!
Saves money with vegetables & extra trips to the grocery store.

I’ve ordered ExtraLife many times because my produce stays fresher a lot longer. example- Cilantro, which lasts up to a week for me, is now still fresh into it’s 3rd week.

I’ve also found they seem to still be working even after the 3 month recommended limit.

Great idea!
I hate grocery shopping more than dentistry. I do however like my fresh produce and have tried every setting on my refridgerator produce compartments to no great end. This item has definitely extended the shelf life of my produce and is well worth the reasonable cost in testing. I do not use it for fruits but have heard that it works. Dunno. But I am quite happy with the product and would recommend as well as buy again after the recommended 90-day use cycle.

It actually works
I was skeptical about this product at first but it actually works! It doesn’t keep things fresh forever, but definately prolongs shelf life of fruits and vegetables by atleast a week or two which is great. It works alot better than Evert-green bags which actually made fruits and vegetables rot faster in my experience. Go figure

To Whoof, or not to whoof, that is the question
This is a must have if you live within the city limits, have fussy or close neighbors in proximity to your yard, or have a strict home owners association that prohibits excessive dog barking. I am a lab breeder and own 3 of these units. I am very pleased with the performance and function of this product because it stops “nuisance barking” by administering a minimal buzz that gradually gets stronger the longer the dog barks the lowest setting delivers your common “prankster hand buzzer” volt. And if your too squeamish about buzzing your dog, there is a “lemon spray” version of this exact brand that also works well too. Instead of delivering a buzz, it puffs a lemon deterant near the snout. For more stubborn dogs, the buzzer seems to work better. In no way is this harmful to your dog, but rather more humane discipline than verbal or physical correction by you, the owner. I believe all dogs are pleasers and want you to be happy with them. If your dog doesn’t have a bark collar, most people tend to over correct or not be completely steady in the level of correction being a swat on the hind end, hopefully nothing more abusive, or other methods. The end result is your dog barks when your not around. That’s why these collars work so well, it adjusts and corrects only as needed, and with as little force as needed, and will never over correct, or over punish, like we humans sometimes do when we’re angry or sleep deprived due to a BARKING DOG!!!! By using this bark collar, the dog, in a sence, is making a choice whether or not it wants to continue barking incesantly, which is a much better training technique. This collar will still allow them to bark, don’t get me wrong, but the ongoing nuisance barking will cease. These collars work great and allow more opportunities for us to reward the dogs for good behavior instead of correcting them for barking constantly. You’ll love your dog more and he’ll love you more too by being a good owner and keeping everyone happy. I would definitely buy more of this brand if my other units get damaged somehow.

It definitely works, but…
I gave this product 5 stars because it definitely works as advertised. Be forewarned, however, that your dog’s reaction may vary greatly from others. We purchased two. On the one dog, it worked great - after a few weeks of training, she stops barking as soon as we take out the collar and stays silent. For this dog, the device is worth it’s weight in gold! The other dog, however, had very bad experiences - when she is shocked, she cries (she has a weird bark/cry/growl), but the device thinks she is barking and continues to zap, and she becomes a wreck. Thus, we can’t use it on her, but on the other dog it works great.
A few other notes: it works by detecting vibrations in the dog’s neck, not by sound (ie, another dog barking won’t set it off), so the collar needs to be tight. If a dog has thick hair, it may not work as well. It will also take several weeks to train your dog properly with the device - the instructions indicate that you can’t keep it on for more than 12 hours at a time or the dog may develop a rash. Thus, you will have to work the collar into your routine, putting it on and removing it based on your dog’s bark patterns. Finally, the shock is definitely not painful (you can test it by rubbing it against your jeans, it’s just a static shock), but your dog’s reaction to this may be different from others. With this in mind, I do highly recommend this product! Good luck!

Incredibly effective!
My recently adopted, very excitable dog has had the collar on a total of
maybe 3 hours over two days. Already, *without* the collar on, he has
absolutely stopped barking at (a) the vacuum cleaner, (b) the neighbor’s
perpetually yapping (instigator) dog right on the other side of the
fence, and (c) squirrels (real or imagined) in the trees behind the
house. The transformation is absolutely beyond belief. Get over any “I
don’t want to hurt my baby” thing you may have going on - I did too -
and buy this product if you have a barking problem. I’m floored by how
effective this thing is and wish I’d known about it years ago. I realize
that training isn’t complete at this point but I’ve seen instantaneous
and really dramatic improvement. Good luck and I hope you have even half
the success I’m having with this product. Note to those who got a defective one - try again!

Added 2 days after my initial review - it gets better! Tried this on my other young dog, adopted a month or so earlier, who is pretty good about barking except while I’m preparing her food. Then, she barks like crazy and runs back and forth. It’s cute and no problem at my house, but it’s not cool when we’re visiting my mom’s apartment in a retirement community. I stuck the collar on her before starting food prep tonight and got two (count ‘em!) barks during the entire prep process. Normally I wouldn’t be able to count the frantic, nonstop barks during food prep. This change was astonishing.

I have become more aware of the need to be on top of things since I have two relatively young and energetic dogs. They may go from a “barking’s not good now” situation (barking at the fence at passerby) to a “barking’s OK now” situation (chasing each other around the house) pretty quickly. You need to be ready to take off (or put on) the shock collar at such transitions during training. But I’m finding that even occasional concentration on this is yielding bigtime resuts faster than I would have ever believed.

Great for parties
I have two of these and used them at an open house. Everyone loved them and wanted to know where I got them. They hold 3 gallons and was more than enought for the 100+ people at the open house. They are easy to put together and clean. I would definitely recommend these for anyone who entertains.

Worked great!!
Purchased 4 and used them for an event for about 125 people. Used them outside on a very warm day. No leaks - worked great. I anticipated that the ice in the bottom bowl would not keeps the drinks cool enough to suit me - so I inserted tall vases in the container and filled this with ice and lemons. Filled with lemonade and tea just below the rim of the vase. Between the ice in the bottom and the ice inserted in the vases - the drinks were plenty cool throughout several hours. (and also were not watered down by indirectly introducing the ice).

Highly recommend this product.

excellent product
This is the ONLY water dispenser we have purchased in the past month that does not leak - we have bought from another vendor on Amazon - which was BAD - and they still have not replyed to us (Web Infusions - DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!)… have also bought one from Costo, and Wisteria - that leaked - you are the ONLY dispenser we will order again .. Bravo to Target!
