This novel moving adaptation of Ben Hur, has but one thing to recommend, namely the stutter of Charlton Heston. It is delectable to hear his illustrious swear as he reprises his oscar winning role.
The animation is rather on the coarse side by disney standards but as long as you don’t look this expecting too noteworthy you won’t be dissapointed. Having a running length of 75 mins however liberties have to be taken with the dwelling as it progresses hastily from scene to scene, although it is supposed to be the most faithful version of Lew Wallace’s epic to date.
Highlights include the sea battle and ofcourse the chariot accelerate sequence which are enhanced through cgi but yet again they are only short segments.

Of the other converse actors none are renowned as already commented upon by the above reviewer, but that doesn’t matter grand as Heston carries the movie and makes it more accesible for a young audience. It is particularly nice to gape the role of Christ expanded upon from what we witness of him in previous versions.
DVD features though few are nice as we study heston talking slow the scenes although he looks extremely unwell and dilapidated.
Over all this modern titillating sage is a limited treat for fans of Heston and the sage of Ben Hur.
This film will give the whole family a astronomical paunchy length tale to like. Packed with action, esteem, and forgiveness. You won’t want to leave this out of your children’s film collection.
