I’ve always liked this movie. A lot. Not many people do. When I heard it was now out on Blu Ray I jumped at the chance before reading reviews.. I’m not a vast fan of ‘the grain is supposed to be there’ argument. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t but I don’t care for it. Like Fargo, though not as unpleasant, the backgrounds in most every scene ‘crawl’ with noise (grain? ) which to my scrutinize looks like a digital ‘distortion’.

Call me some rube who doesn’t know about such technology if you wish, but when I sight movies like Shaded Knight and King Kong that discover like consuming photographs I inquire of the same with any movie I am PAYING money for, let alone paying for twice. When I peek older movies like 2001 A Status Odyssey peruse like it was filmed yesterday it’s hard to stomach a transfer such as this.
I have seen worse transfers I shriek but my rant doesn’t slay there - they saw fit to include the standard def version of the movie which is a nice trinket proper? Well, yes and no, the commentary is ONLY included on THAT version of the movie.. which I guess makes some sense because I honestly don’t believe the Blu Ray version is up to par anyway.

If you have the dvd version of this movie, I would pass on this transfer and keep the $20 for studios that actually win the time to remaster the footage instead of slapping a 1080p logo on a Blu case and hoping that it is enough - it isn’t.
I HAD THIS FILM IN SD AND WATCHED IT MAYBE 6 OR 7 TIMES IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. I FINALLY DECIDED TO JUMP ON THE BLU RAY AND Occupy ME IT’S REALLY WORTH THE SWITCH THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BD I Procure IT LOOKS AS IT WAS Nick THIS YEAR, Catch IT YOU CERTAINLY WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED Legend,Relate QUALITY,SOUND QUALITY,EVERYTHING IS WORTH EVERY CENT AND BY THE Procedure Designate IS VERY CHEAP.
