A digital remastering of the 1957 tale film, with English subtitles. The modern international release of the film slit it to unprejudiced over 100 minutes. This is the chubby director’s cut: 330 minutes. As rich and multi-storied as the fresh, this is the Russian Gone with the Wind, a myth of fancy and civil war, pride and deceit. Filmed on spot, it has an authentic feel and many memorable scenes. A must eye. (Reviewed in Russian Life)

I did not believe it would be possible to gain Mikhail Sholokhov’s ample modern into a movie, but I was very contemptible. The movie is very bright and outstandingly deep. It is an absolutely exciting production with fabulous acting and production values. I recommend this film without reservation, It is one of the finest films of the Soviet era.
