This status picks up where the last one left off. Goku has defeated Frieza, and the Z-Fighters have returned to Earth. Goku is alive, but has opted not to return to Earth, instead continuing personal training in the vastness of spot.

The DVD location is divided amongst six discs, and contains the Garlic Jr., Cyborg Frieza, Android Training, and Android Sagas. The recount has been subjected to digital noise reduction, and the position includes a booklet of character profiles and episode listings.

Obviously, if you’re unique to the Dragon Ball franchise, you’ll want to commence with the Season One box state, but if you’re already a fan, you’ll indulge in these episodes. I won’t lie, this is one of the weaker box sets, it’s basically everything that links the Frieza and Android/Cell Sagas. The Garlic Jr. Saga has some grand moments, but it’s ultimately an anime-only filler that contributes nothing to the overall storyline. The Android Training episodes fare similarly (Chi-Chi wants Goku to obtain a drivers license despite the fact that she was seen driving in an early episode of the series? ) Even the Android Saga itself gets off to a rough, stupid open. But amongst the filler and obligatory slow-moving region progression stuff, there is some ample moments, namely the battle with Cyborg Frieza, and the introductions of Androids 16, 17, and 18 - and the battles with them that follow. These aren’t the best episodes of the series, but some of them ARE key moments in the series.

One of my personal approved features of the state is the Marathon feature. FUNimation includes a feature in these sets that allows you to understanding all of the episodes on each disc from initiate to demolish with no interruptions from intros/outros/recaps/etc. This is an extremely handy feature I wish more TV shows on DVD had.

Like earlier Dragon Ball Z season sets, the describe has been cropped at the top and bottom (this was done due to excessive grain and harm to the novel source), and it has been subjected to the digital noise reduction process. Obviously a lot of fans, myself included, were disappointed to glimpse the recount glean cropped. Simmons that lets you experience the series as originally intended. Is Dragon Ball Z EVER going to gather its Japanese audio remastered?

Additionally, like the earlier sets, you have the option of watching the English convey cast played against the recent Japanese audio.

Disappointingly, the next episode previews aren’t included. But they weren’t in any earlier season position, so it’s no gigantic surprise.

No special features are included here unless you count the trailers and the same textless opening/closing sequence all other sets like this have had. On the excellent side, the dwelling does include a booklet similar to the earlier sets, with character profiles and an episode guide, making it handy to go suitable where you need to go on the DVDs.

It’s another worthy situation. If you’re a fan of the series and don’t already have these episodes, you can catch them all here for one vulgar notice. Cropping issues aside, this is a immense situation, and a estimable value, especially compared to the older DVD releases.

Highly recommended to any fan of Dragon Ball Z.

This is when things open to bag really powerfull! DBZ has been called “The greatest action cartoon ever made!” I agree 100%. That being said this was/is the greatest season ever made. It’s starts most likely with the Blackwater mist saga an auspicious begining. The only thing the B-W-M saga does is waste/fill time. Then we have the Trunks saga. This saga really shows how the power level has risen. With the eminant return of Frieza, Goku tranquil missing, and a current frieghtfully powerfull young man, the drama is there. After everything settles down a bit The Z fighters procure out about a unique threat even greater than Frieza. Enter the Android saga. An enemy from Goku’s past comes benefit to haunt him and his friends. A really dramatic action packed saga where Krilin falls for an shapely but vollatile advesary.

I really hope the modern bag is available for this season. There were some improbable techno beats in this saga that I would care for to hear in Dolby 5.1. I do come by the recent accept is kinda fitting for the action in the first 3 seasons. So I won’t be too disapointed if not.

If the first 3 realeses are any indication of quality quiz a few chopped/cropped shots instead of precise widescreen. I know they had some genuine hard repair work to do on the unusual film, but don’t sell me a mule and call it horse.

All in all a unbelievable grasp for the DBZ fan or any fan of anime. Of course you should launch at season one, but if you want to jump in without seeing every episode from the begining this is the season to do it.

As a Japanese living in the United Staes, I can say totally, that this film is extraordinary. There’re some critics says Tom Cruise’s acting and so on, however, this film sucessfully depicts the history of Japan, and people’s broken-down lives and the ruin of samurai era.

This is a spectacular movie with sweeping sword actions and it is based on the accurate history events in japan, I’ve seen a lot of samurai movies(made in japan for japanese) but i can say this one is Vast as the other movies, plus this is not usual hollywood movies that awfully depicts samurais and even Yakuzas and brush off the truth.

I can say, however, without Tom Wing, this movie could have also been tall as well. But i would guess that it is because of him, this movie gained more attention among people and so typical americans can earn the belief of what samurai really is and what they really judge.

This film has been compared (a lot) to Dances with Wolves due to the fact that they both fragment similar themes. A Civil War era soldier who finds himself thrown in the middle of a different culture and ends up embracing it and becoming portion of it.

However, Edward Zwick’s film differs from the Kevin Costner Oscar winner in that the considerable character, Lt. Nathan Algren (Glide) is down on his luck, having become a drunken caricature of his feeble self, deeply regretful of his actions, who accepts a job as an instructor for an incipient Japanese army that needs to be prepared to fight against the Samurai.

As he arrives to Tokyo he starts training a useless bunch of would-be soldiers who are sent to fight even if they’re not ready for it. Once there, Algren’s life is changed forever as he gets to know the true lifestyle of the Samurai and their people. They turn out not to be the savages that the Japanese government makes them out to be. After spending winter with them, Algren “changes sides” and joins the Samurai in fighting the Emperor’s army.

The title of the movie tells the final outcome. The Samurai lose the battle. Progress triumphs over tradition. Current over stale. But Algren’s past demons are redeemed by his bold actions helping the Samurai.

The moral worth of this movie is its gape. You can definetely view where the budget went (other than Cruise’s salary) . A whole village was built and the attention to detail is fantastic. The costumes are simply unbelievable, especially the battle armors. The costume designer is Ngila Dickson, who also worked in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Also of watch are the battle scenes, which are breathtaking. Very violent, but not gratuitous, they help the sage very well.

As for the acting, Flee does a resplendent job, and is slowly but consistently becoming a better actor (even if this particular performance was not nominated for an Academy Award), but the movie belongs to Ken Watanabe (who was indeed nominated) as Katsumoto. His presence demands attention. He is the center of every scene he’s in. Koyuki’s performance as Taka, Katsumoto’s sister and Algren’s admire interest, should also be noticed.

Adam Curtis’s Century of the Self DVD. OMG. That one is mild giving me nightmares. Luminous that Propaganda/PR has been monkeying around with the American Subconscious since 1907? Well.. scares the hell out of me.

This DVD “The Trap” is a simple recording moral off of the TV. The 2nd Documentary you hear the BBC announcer talk about the next upcoming program. But you’re not buying a high quality movie.. you are buying a mind opening documentary.

I really appreciate all the ragged footage of computers. Guys crawling around under the raised floors. (Because succor in the broken-down days they had to icy the floor as they over clocked the TUBES) LOL..

I might not 100% concur with MR. Curtis’s conclusions on this one. But it does give me a lot to contemplate about. For positive “A Century of the Self” DVD was his best to date.

I’m tickled that a “Few” Americans have discovered Adam Curtis. His 3rd acts nearly always need “Work”. But his Documentary’s are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Of course he should win the Master Tapes from BBC and build a excellent DVD burn. But hey.. it is the exclaim correct?

I concept that Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle were delightfully droll in this film. 2 girls from Georgia go to California chasing a dream, gather a limited side-tracked, but execute their dream anyway, meeting some unbelievable people along the contrivance. The characters played by Martin Landau and Ian Richardson were SOOO amusing - especially when Mr. Manley goes to the relate store, looking for “The RRRRRRRap fragment.” I plan that the actors playing the girls’ boyfriends were edifying too - a exiguous kooky, but genuinely obedient people. Nisi and Micky may appear to be gold diggers, but it turns out they have hearts of gold, and for this, they are rewarded. Who says beneficial girls effect last?

I liked this movie; it made me laugh at a time when I was down in the dumps. I know Ms. Berry and Mr. Landau have been in better movies; but this one showcases their ability to be comic. Besides, if you cannot have any fun now and then; why manufacture movies in the first set. The situation is mammoth because it shows objective what can happen when two blacks girls follow their dreams. Even though it doesn’t seem like it will work out for them in the extinguish, it really does after all. Troy Beyer is the writer, Robert Townsend directed, dusky actors starred in it. Give this movie a break; it is a comedy; it is not supposed to be a drama like “Substantial”. The scenes in the restaurant were droll and realistic; two gloomy girls meeting celebrites they have only read about and heard about. If that is not comical I don’t know what is. When will we (African-Americans) commence giving each other credit for our accomplishments in the film industry??? It is high time we started recognizing each other’s talent. When we do, others will contemplate our talent as well.

If you’re a fan of Brian Helgeland, Paul Bettany (Chaucer), or impartial commentary tracks in general, don’t prefer the extended edition. The regular DVD has every feature the “extended” edition does - it impartial doesn’t insert the deleted scenes into the movie. They’re included as bonus features. This extended edition does not include the hilarious and insightful commentary track by Helgeland and Bettany, which is really the best thing about the DVD. You win more features for less money by buying the regular DVD release.

Apparently audiences couldn’t quite figure out A Knight’s Myth when it had its theatrical release last year. This was in all likelihood due to the combination of rock music in traditional times clashing with our knowledge of history and our comely sensibilities. However, having both seen this at the cinema and owning it on DVD, I would like to hope that this movie will be given a second chance to rep original viewers as it really is a capable film and spacious fun!

Heath Ledger (The Patriot) displaying tall charm and a winning smile throughout, plays William Thatcher, squire to a washed up champion jouster, who dies during a competition, leaving William to masquerade as his master in order to earn their winnings. Aided by his initially less than enthusiatic pals Roland (Tag Addy from Chubby Monty) and Wat (Alan Tudyk, 28 Days) William fakes nobility to illegally enter competitions. On their travels they encounter a naked wanderer, the future well-known author, Geoffrey Chaucer (Paul Bettany) who joins their `crusade’ and helps to forge William’s ancestral lineage, so that he can recall allotment in the noblemen only games. Whilst competing (according to my wife who seems to like every Australian film star) the very glowing William catches the contemplate of a lady, Jocelyn (the very radiant Shannyn Sossamon), and sets out to salvage her heart. However, standing between William and his two goals of winning the World Championships and winning the hand of Lady Jocelyn stands the dastardly Count Adhemar (brilliantly played by Rufus Sewell, Dusky City) .

This is a surprising change of direction for writer/Director Brian Helgelend (LA Confidential) . This movie is immense fun and the mixture of rock music (they notify, clap and mark Queen’s We Will Rock You before each joust) and medieval times works surprisingly well, adding to the excitement and atmosphere of each competition. Both Heath Ledger and Shannyn Sossamon shine in their lead roles and fragment qualified on-screen sexual chemistry. However, it is Paul Bettany who steals most scenes as the occasionally naked, always in distress, lyrical Geoffrey Chaucer. Also peek out for James Purefoy in a relatively puny role (but tipped for greater things)!

Extra features on the DVD include a light-hearted commentary from Brian Helgeland and Paul Bettany, where they explain some of the FX tricks of the trade and hear Helgeland feign ignorance of the fact that they didn’t dance to David Bowie in 1366 or play Queen’s “We Will Rock You” at jousting tournaments. There is also a passable documentary and some suitable deleted scenes and a music video where Britains most well-liked of recent musical stars Robbie Williams performs Queen’s “We Are the Champions” with all the pomp and grandiosity of Freddie Mercury, outlining why he is considered natural heir to Mercury’s throne as Britains Greatest Showman.

Four stars for the movie (five stars are far too often and easily dispensed), four stars for the extras. Well worth checking out.

Premiering on CBS in 1988 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Superman, this Joseph Ruby and Kenneth Spears (Ruby-Spears) produced cartoon series marked the first time that elements of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies and the post-Crisis Superman were combined onscreen. Feeble comical book writer Marv Wolfman acted as the lead yarn editor for the series and helped transform Lex Luthor from the furious scientist featured in the Superfriends cartoons to the billionaire industrialist found in the 1986 John Byrne penned Man of Steel revamp. Each episode consisted of a lead 18-minute Superman myth, followed by a 4-minute flashback legend that was share of the ‘Superman’s Family Album’ segment, which chronicled Superman’s life from his adoption by the Kents to his first appearance in costume. With character designs by the legendary artist Gil Kane, this series featured some of the finest animation that Superman had seen in decades, despite having lasted for only one season. The tone of the stories were also slightly more worn than what had been previously seen of Superman on the Saturday morning landscape, build for the underrated Well-kept Powers Team: Galactic Guardians cartoon series. The sole bonus feature for this plot is the ‘Corruption of the Corrupt: The Rise of Lexcorp’ featurette, which examines Luthor’s transition into the head of a greedy, corporate conglomerate. While the inclusion of series-specific extras would have been a welcome addition, most fans are probably unbiased grateful to finally have this long overlooked series on DVD. With many of Superman’s shroud adaptions now available to gain commercially, one can only hope that it is simply a matter of time before WB revisits the remaining Superboy seasons, as well. As for the exceptionally well-crafted Ruby-Spears series, it served as the perfect bridge between the kid-friendly cartoons of the 80s and the spellbinding series phenomena of the 90s. Now, over two decades later, fans can once again be pleased these lesser-seen adventures in Superman’s never ending battle!

Ruby-Spears Superman series finally gets the DVD treatment that is deserves. This point to for a superman fan such as myself was classic animation at its best. Superman is an american icon and this short lived series was a enormous tribute to The Man of Steel. This series along with both of the Dapper Powers series will remain classics forever. This would gain for a perfect christmas gift for any superman fan that you may have in your family. Ruby-Spears Superman series is fun for the whole family.

I saw this film when it opened on July 24, 2009. Mixed reviews from fans and critics were the usual flair upon its release, but something struck me about this movie. The film went on to sinister $37 million at the box-office despite the thrashing it took from critics, but everyone couldn’t wait on but sight the Oscar-nomination obliging performance of its 12-year-old star Isabelle Fuhrman. I fair viewed the film on DVD for the first time since its theaterical accelerate and I’m serene seeing unbiased how riveting and keen this movie really is.

“Orphan” is NOT a fear film. It’s more along the lines of a SUSPENSE THRILLER. Set in the winter-bound parts of Conneticut & Canada, the fable centers on the Coleman family: Kate (Vera Farmiga), a Yale University music teacher recovering from alcoholism and bouts of depression after having a stillborn from her third pregnancy; John (Peter Sarsgaard), an architech whose nice guy persona overshadows his increasing issues with Kate that led to past affairs; Max (Aryana Engineer), their deaf 5-year-old daughter who communicates through notice language and their oldest son Daniel (Jimmy Bennett), who feels bitterly neglected & increasingly isolated from his parents. The reply, and the titanic secret about who she really is, lies within the confines of this 123-minute thriller. I agree with everyone here that it moves at a near-torturous snail’s skedaddle, that being the film’s major fatal flaw. But the anecdote itself is so entralling and attractive, you can’t benefit but to excuse that misfire. Fuhrman’s performance alone keeps you enthusiastic in the twists and turns entrenched here. Only a young, superbly talented actress like Fuhrman was able to pull off a psychological undertaking of switching from sympathetic manipulator to unnerved sadist and it’s why I feel she should secure an Oscar nod. Many people fetch that describing the movie to give a movie review is the method to go. Usually, I refrain, but on this occasion, I will include the station. A husband and wife, already with two children of their hold (one who is deaf) lose their third child during labor. They resort to adopting an orphan–a 9-year-old, seemingly luminous and kind-hearted, petite Russian girl. Distinguished to their scare, what seems to be the perfect adoption turns into anything but. The movie moves at a expressionless but certain ride for the first 45 minutes or so, but then the rockin’ starts to rollin’ as the chronicle spirals into a cacophony of strangeness accompanied with mountains of vindictive mayhem. Many reviews I have read had a spot with the twist; I concept it to be VERY Chilly, and something that could become reality in the realm of possibility, which makes it all the more founded, thus being all the more horrific. Honest before the twist; however, something happened that made me assume, “Okay, here we go…factual encourage into the amusing Hollywood fear film crap that has been bombarding us throughout the beginning of the recent century.” But when the twist hits and everything finally makes sense, I was thankfully pulled from that teach of opinion and taken aid into a bizarre and extraordinary chronicle. Shadowy Castle Entertainment has done a LOT of movies that I simply adore (Gothika, Ghost Ship, and Thirteen Ghosts.) This one will have to go into that group of five-star movies. Don’t miss it!

Really now.. When I heard that they were putting my Well-liked Christmas film on DVD I was so mad. Muppet Family Christmas is something that my family always watches. It’s amusing, sweet, and so engaging. But, unfortunetly, the version on the DVD is not the version I fair praised. There are massive edits that are very noticable to viewers who have watched it since it first aired on TV and may leave first time viewers confused. Fozzie’s duet with the Snowman is chop out, the Muppet Babies home video is gash out (leaving Doc with a very queer line that doesn’t do sense) and in my idea the best allotment, where Miss Piggy enters and sings her song and slips on the Frigid Patch is edited out. The best Cold patch gag and it’s left out of the DVD/VHS.

I am not going to recall this DVD, Fortunately, my VHS tape detached works well enough to ogle it (yes with the OshGosh commercails and Double Mint Gum ones too!) . Until they assign the exact version on the market, I will not exercise my money on the DVD.

I am very annoyed with the video that I bought off this website. I had the video recorded from t.v years ago and accidently loaned it out to someone. When I found it on amazon, needless to say I was thrilled, until I watched it. You slit out the major scenes from the movie like when Fozzie does his stand up comedy act with the snowmen and when the Muppet babies video is crop short. I don’t mind miniature edits, but editing out these parts is absolutely ridiculious! I would have given the movie five stars, but since it has been butchered, it only receives three stars. People who have never seen this movie would never stare the edits, but if you’re like me and you have watched this video about 5 million times, you will definetly eye the edits. You shouldn’t even be selling the movie like this! It ruins the whole anecdote! Therefore, I will continue to inspect for my used copy and inspect the one I recorded off Odyseey instead.

I honestly do not understand all the dreadful reviews that Reign of Fire received when it opened. Most people expected an Independence Day style brainless special effects vehicle and instead they got a tedious paced character driven sci-fi flick. I guess these are the same people who conception XXX was a masterpiece. Anyway, I worship Reign of Fire for everything it is and isn’t. Matthew McConaughey (who it is large to eye in another mountainous movie without Hollywood gloss, recognize Frailty to study what I mean) brings to life one of his best roles in the dragonslaying Van Zan, while Christian Bale proves once again that he isn’t unbiased female explore candy (for another example explore American Psycho) . Both actors are incredible, while X-Files film director Take Bowman moves the film at a purposely boring inch so that every time we procure a watch of a dragon it leaves the viewer wanting more and eventually getting it. The dragons themselves must be seen to be believed, they breathe, depart, and stalk like one would imagine a dragon would in loyal life. All in all, Reign of Fire is a masterful high grade B-movie that shines without the Hollywood gloss, and is a upright treat of a film.

A group of American military approach and they specialize in killing dragons. They also have a crazy idea for getting rid of the dragons for friendly but they need more men.

This memoir of survivors facing impossible odds with an iron will to survive is well crafted and easily rewatchable. The acting is suited while the effects are qualified. but this is not a movie about dragons, it is a movie about people and how they deal with adversity. Although the movie is really about people, the dragons are fantastic and fleshy of menace. Definitely worth watching.

First let me say, this review is not of the company that puts out this dvd or the manner in which the dvd was released. I agree they should have all the movies together in one dwelling and could have made it match the seasons. But, movie and music companies always leave something to be desired in how they release things so I am not gonna write a review of that. I am writing this in regards to the loyal made for tv movies. I personally do not understand why everyone is talking so negatively about these movies. My personal view is that, anytime you add James Garner to the mix you’re gonna earn your money’s worth. I am a collector of dvds so I am happy/proud to say that I can finally have these to complete the Rockford Collection. Although the actor is older, you don’t obtain the feeling that they tried to underplay his age. They come by it, they broach the subject many times with humor, and all-in-all you gather an actor playing his age as well as not losing any of the qualities that made the actor so memorable. there are the trademark one liners, though he does seem a bit more rough around the edges he is calm the same outmoded rockford we grew up with in the 70s and in reruns. The saddest piece was that Rocky wasn’t able to be in them. Anyone who is/was a fan of the explain will feel as if they’ve lost a family member as well. The storylines are shapely, and are noble vehicles for the Rockford character. There are a few reunions (for us as well) as he is joined by Beth and Angel (throughought the course of the movies) too abominable Isaac Hayes didn’t display up though. That would have made it more complete. I would glady reccomend this position to anyone who has seen the series and loved it as I did. I’d benefit anything I can with Garner’s name on it. He is a radiant actor who simply made it behold easy and natural. I really would have liked it released differently (one complete dwelling) but that is a minor qualm. Unbiased be grateful these made it to dvd. Many companies are always looking for what’s unusual and hot and not necessarily for what is friendly. Garner never made a movie/series I didn’t like. He was the type that could elevate the material to levels it was probably not meant to be at. Even though the location is not out yet (I have recently seen these episodes…recorded off the Hallmark channel) and will dispute you you won’t be disappointed if you lift these.

I absorb the unusual 1970’s television series “The Rockford Files” was one of the finest drama series ever made. This was largely on the strength of the performance of James Garner in the starring role, in addition to the resplendent scripts by people like Steven Cannell, David Run and others. Garner NEVER establish in a poor performance, something that few actors of even the most successfull series can say. The stories, both those that had more silly aspects (such as those with the unforgettable character Angel, played by Stuart Margolin) or those with a more serious storyline always kept the attention of the audience and provided top entertainment. Few other series can say this.

HAVING SAID THIS, I am apprehensive that I can not wholeheartedly recommend the movies that made up the revival of the series in the 1990’s. These movies fell victim to the popular predicament of all revivals using a eminent older star. Whether or not they are concious of it or not, they are being paid a fortune, they have nothing to display, they usually don’t have the energy they had when they were young, and they know that the expose can not be made without them. This almost inevitably has the actor ease up and it frequently seems that they are simply going through the motions. Unfortunately we scrutinize this syndrome in these movies. As resplendent an actor as Garner was in his glory days, by the time these movies came along, he simply was not the same man. In addition, the nature of television had changed between the 1970’s and 1990’s. The 1970’s had directing oriented towards a “natural” feel regarding lighting, sets, camera angles and such. In the 1990’s there is something more of a “surreal” feeling in which rather unnatural lighting is passe and the furnishing of the sets seems sterile compared to that of the earlier period, which I personally don’t care for. Also, because of changing taste, things like profanity and explicit talk about sex became more favorite and this is often stale as an out for sluggish writers who don’t have to work hard in order to invent more creative stories, relying simply on the decreasing shock value to gain the audience’s attention.

It is also sunless to study shapely supporting actors such as Joe Santos and Pat Finley (Jim’s pal Dennis Becker and his wife, Peggy) who were so dynamic in the unique series seemingly becoming aging relics. James Luisi, who was so apt as Rockford’s nemesis Lt. Chapman in the LAPD here appears as simply a goofy caricature.

The bottom line is that these movies are yet another proof of Thomas Wolfe’s immortal line “You Can’t Go Home Again”.
