This cartoon plays on many topics that were ahead of it’s time! Raw, uninhibited humor at it’s best! R. Crumb knows how to bewitch one sage line, and play off of it time and time again. There are subtlties that construct the movie understandable and interested. Once you realize, Fritz is day-dreaming on 9 lives, these lives are how he would’ve rather have lived and ultimately died than have been forced to marry his wife! The faucet dripping in his eyes time and time again, is him remembering how he slipped up and got his wife pregnant. Once you realize these connections…this movie is more luscious each time you sight it!
On first veiwing, after having seen the first Fritz the Cat movie, you might feel like this maligned flick was build together while everyone was stoned, however, like sparkling art, it leaves something with you that brings you help to it again. and it seems to this reviewer that each time you advance help to it, you examine another aspect of it,although not clearly definable, draws you attend again….in fact, I’m going to peruse it AGAIN just now….spy ya!
