The exhaust of shadows and various perspective shots was not unprecedented in 1941, but never before had they been ancient with so grand dramatic impact. What was unprecedented was that `Citizen Kane’ was the first film ever to recede from the strict legend format, which moves forward chronologically. Hey all. I bought this edition recently, and was blooming disappointed with the packaging. The outside box is sturdy enough, but the inside discs are all kept on one spindle, rather than in separate cases or separate disc holders. While this isn’t definitely going to mess the discs up, I possess it does increase the possibility of afflict happening. If this type of packaging bothers you, then I’d suggest going with one of the previous editions.

This is an exceptional DVD transfer of an exceptional movie. Criterion has done a exquisite job of restoring Charade to its vivid glory. The film is presented in its recent 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The print is distinct, crisp, and handsome to eye. You feel as if you can arrive out and touch the actors.

And what actors! The film features the dashing older version of Cary Grant and the youthful gamine Audrey Hepburn, with enough chemistry between them to ignite a fireworks factory. I got this DVD for Christmas and I wasn’t disappointed. Stanley Donen, director of musicals such as “Singin’ In The Rain” starring Gene Kelly, brought together Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn (who looks intelligent, as always) in this wonderfully-written chronicle about a Parisian widow (Hepburn) who is being pursued by three perilous men (two of which are played by George Kennedy - an gracious “heavy” - and James Coburn at his most menacing) who want to accumulate out about a gigantic sum of money her uninteresting husband supposedly had. Grant is the pleasant stranger but eventually you open to wonder: is he working with these men? Does he want the money for himself? Or is he really the fair, older man Audrey finds herself falling in like with?

Pokemon All-Stars is a ten-disc DVD plot that was released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Pokemon. Each DVD features a Pokemon character, and the disc is supposed to include episodes that feature the Pokemon on the box. On a couple of the discs, I wondered why an episode was included for a particular Pokemon. One of the biggest examples of this was the inclusion of “Fit to be Tide” on the Squirtle disc. While Ash may have musty Squirtle for portion of the gym battle, the episode actually focuses a lot more on Lampras (and would have been more appropriate for a Lampras disc if one had been made) .

What a shame that this respectable film has been ruined on this DVD, released by a defective Dutch company (Dutch Filmworks)! I unbiased bought it from an amazon seller and am immediately in the process of getting a refund. Firstly, the film has been edited in at least five places. The running time is said here, and on the support cloak to be 98 minutes but is actually less than 96 minutes, with over 2 minutes of footage missing! The record is slightly below average DVD quality but that would not have been an dispute for me if the film had not been butchered by that dull Dutch ticket. Every qualified portion of the film has been removed and thus all enjoyment of the film lost with this DVD. If you have bought a copy, accumulate your money serve! You are entitled to under worldwide consumer law.

I’ll be unbiased - I only got this because it has Joanna Cassidy’s greatest nude scene. Vadim, a very voyeuristic director, is sigh to sit the camera in front of her bare butt and honest leave it there. Splendid by me. More animated than the entirety of Alexander. I loved this film as a kid, and it was fun to re-watch as an adult. Ok, it’s not going to glean the award for the best film ever. It’s definitely light Disney live action comparable to many of it’s other 70s films. Lawful, the new Sprint To Witch Mountain was better, but this has some broad moments of it’s have. Also, it’s got a incredible cast, Bette Davis and Christopher Lee, and those unbelievable kids!!! Can you assure I like this film despite it’s silliness?

What makes it all more special, are the extras. They are laid out kind of strangely, and if you don’t stare around, you could miss them. The highlight of these is the documentary, “Making the ‘return’ race.” If you wondered what ever happened to Kim and Iake, as well as the members of the gang (can you fill they actually grew up? ), the crew, and director, they’re all here. Thank you everyone at Disney for putting the extra grief into this release. Support up the proper work!

Sissy Spacek plays her character to a T, making the emotions believable and realistic. William Katt plays Tommy Ross who asks Carrie to The Bates High School Senior Prom, the butch, Betty Buckley as the ultimate in P.E. teachers from Hell, Miss Collins, Nancy Allen, Brian De Palma’s wife as the horribly cruel and self-absorbed, Chris Hargensen, John Travolta as the boy from the horrible side of the tracks, Billy Nolan and P.J. Soles, the “whore” from Halloween as Chris’ best friend and partner in crime, Norma Watson.

The accurate star here, however, is Brian De Palma’s direction and the cinematography in “Carrie”. The opening shower scene rivals “Psycho”, the Senior Prom dance scene makes the viewer dizzy no matter how dinky a cover you behold it on, the split-screen King and Queen and ensuing bloodfest is masterfully directed and shot along with the dream sequence that was filmed backwards in the raze. However, my accepted scene is where Margaret White is crucified a la “creepy Jesus statue” style, by her possess daughter!
