Usually when stars reach 70, they have to be resigned to the fact that the only time they will see themselves act will be watching their faded movies on the late show. That was not the case with the late Jack Lemmon. He worked pratically up to the end, and his last major work “Tuesdays With Morrie” was a crowning gem to his career.
Mr.Lemmon gave a bit of himself in every movie, and he played the part of high school coach Morrie as no one else could. Lemmon is so believable as the dying Morrie that the film seems more like a home movie than a motion picture. Lemmon as Morrie was funny and touching, but also sad and vulnerable. That’s what makes this movie so good.
Apart from Lemmon, Hank Azaria really impressed me with his acting ability in this movie. I used to think of him as just a voice on “The Simpsons” or almost lizard food in “Godzilla”, but he will go on to become a great actor. I can not really find anything wrong with “Tuesdays With Morrie”, and I recommend it to anyone who likes great acting and a great story. You can keep Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the late Jack Lemmon was truly a gifted actor to me…
This was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It teaches people that it is better to dwell on living than on dying. It was so moving that even my dad enjoyed the movie.
